Let's just get this in the open, I am not a drummer. When I needed something simple, portable, elegant, and easily used by anyone this little Djembe really hit the spot. I primarily play guitar, bass, and other stringed instruments - mostly in the basement with some friends. A small footprint, good sound, and affordability were my focuses when picking this out. At the time of writing this review I've had the drum for a month and have gotten some good time on it. If you're looking for something with a deep bass tone this isn't the drum for you. It's small and petite which is directly correlated to the tones it produces. For the price the sound is great. The resin body does produce a more crisp sharper tone with less resonance than wood. I'm sure the authentic goatskin head plays a big role in the quality sound. Not only is the drum small but it's also really lightweight. As I said above it's resin, not wood , so it's really lightweight! Carrying this drum around from place to place is effortless. You can carry it by the handle with a single finger and have no strain. Aesthetically, the fabric covering is a really attractive and an eye-catcher. The head of my drum was very tight, no loose or weak spots. The rope is strung very securely, I have no concerns of this loosening on it's own. The drum was packaged and shipped with care. I was worried about getting a lower cost plastic body drum, sometimes manufacturers and Amazon are a bit careless. This was packaged really well. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this to someone if they want small and lightweight. The sound quality is spot on for my needs. I think this would make a great beginner and hobbyist instrument.

Just received a 10x20 drum. I’m pleasantly surprised and impressed. It’s well constructed and a pleasure to play. A very nice compromise between small and large drums. Its colorfully painted but not garish and easily transported.

Sounds so good! I've had 2 expensive Remo 12 inch djembes in the past that never sounded as good as this one, probably because this djembe has a real skin head and is made of real wood, not a synthetic shell and head. The bass is deep on this 9 inch head model. Very impressed.

Pros: Cheap, Light, decent sound, solid wood cons: weird rope handle came undone, not great sound, This is a great entry point for those who want to test the water for playing. Decent enough sound that you won't be laughed out of a drum circle or acoustic jam, but when you hear the good ones, it will leave you wanting. it's a great travel drum due to its size and weight, and if it gets damaged you're not out several hundred bucks. Make sure you tune the drum when you get it. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to rope tune the drum.

Nicely made, engraving and paint is beautiful. The sound is outstanding. Been using similar drums for years including bongos and I am happily impressed. 😉

Excellent Djembé, solidité, couleur, résonance, etc … C’est mon 1er, lorsque que je serai plus à l’aise j’opterai pour un 12” ou 14”. Celui-ci a 10” tel qu’indiqué. J’ai de petites mains alors il est parfait pour moi malgré tout.

I was pleasantly surprised by these drums. I bought 2 blue and 2 of the red/yellow/green for my music therapy practice. These drums are all slightly different in terms of size and shape, but they sound good and serve as a functional decoration in the clinic. They are durable and not too heavy. Perfect size for kids and adults.
