Someone said that this shoulder bag squeaks (because the strap hooks rub against the rings in the bag) when you walk. Does anyone know if this is true

Mine never does, but might be a function of strap angle and/or weight If the buckles are rubbing metal-on-on metal, consider wrapping D- ring with duct tape . That may reduce friction.

Does the stratus 15 hold a laptop? or is it just the stratus 21? and what's the max size laptop they fit? i have a 17" macpro.

I've got a Stratus 21 and a 17" dell laptop. The dell will not fit in this bag.

will it fit under the seat in an airplane?

Yes, especially if you align it length-wise (front to back). It will stick out a tad between your feet. If its "loaded" it won't fit cross wise. Additionally, the shoulder strap allow you to hang it on neck,, thus freeing your hands.
