Kohler Toilet Flush Handle Replacement, Fits Side Mount Toilet Tank Lever, Chrome Polished

We needed a replacement handle for a mid-1980s Kohler toilet, and this purchase fit the bill. It works well. However, the handle itself is noticeably lighter than the one we had to replace. This requires that you hold the handle down a bit longer for the flapper to fully lift up. This doesn't affect the functionality, but does take a bit of getting used to.

This Qualihome product is junk. Do not purchase. The product description clearly states that this Kohler compatible, Qualihome toilet handle is made of metal. It is NOT! It is constructed entirely of plastic. The handle is chrome-plated plastic and NOT chrome-plated zinc or cast aluminum or brass or some other metallic compound as expected and as is the case with the OEM Kohler handle. There is not one metal component on this handle that I can see. Even if the handle were metallic, it is still an absolute reject. The handle, when installed, does not sit "level" when at rest because there is too much travel in the mechanism. As a result, the handle does not sit "level" at rest (like the OEM handle) and the long plastic arm that connects to the flapper hits the toilet fill tube and rests upon said fill tube. Also, there is too much play between the handle shaft and the threaded collar causing the handle to be extremely loose and wobbly. This handle is poorly constructed of cheap, plastic materials and was immediately returned. Do not waste your time or money. Look elsewhere for a truly metallic handle. I repaired my OEM Kohler handle using epoxy (the first epoxy repair lasted for at least 15 years). Consequently, I did not order a different handle from Amazon. Hence, I cannot provide an alternate purchasing recommendation. UPDATE: 08/14/2025 - My epoxy repair did not last very long (my bad ... the epoxy was old as the hills ... and I knew it). Consequently, I made a different replacement handle purchase here on Amazon with great results. Look for the product with this description: "iFealClear Universal Brass Toilet Tank Flush Lever Handle, Side/Angle Mount Toilet Handle Compatible with Kohler K-GP30324-CP, Stainless Steel Flapper Chain, Chrome". Perfect fit but the handle is metalized plastic and very light weight. The handle on the old one was metal. The new one doesn’t have the kind of weight you like to have in a flush handle. Was easy to install and hope it lasts for awhile.

Needed a little bending modification to fit the one piece Kohler toilet tank. Worked perfectly after adjusting. Would buy again.

The handle works to flush a Kohler toilet, but the handle angles upwards about 30-degrees when installed instead of being level like the original handle. Again, the handle will work if you just want an inexpensive handle to make the toilet flush, but this handle just looks strange with its upward angle. After purchasing, I found several reviews where others had this same issue (you can search reviews using the term "level" and you can see these reviews). I wish I had seen these reviews before purchasing this item. I ended up returning this handle and purchasing an original Kohler handle that cost about the same as this handle at the local Home Depot, and the original Kohler handle sits level and does not have the unusual upward angle like this handle had.

The replacement handle arrived on time and in good condition.

The product scrapes on inside of tank because lever arm is the wrong shape. With a heat gun I was able to bend it to make it work, but this should not be needed.

This was listed as a Kohler product, and not only was it not, it didn't fit the Kohler. You can get essentially the same item from Home Depot which is a marketed as a generic side mount handle for less than half of this. Don't waste your time.
