Megawise Electric Glass Kettle with Auto Shut-Off (1.8L)

I’ve been looking for an electric teakettle. I saw this one and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. It surprised me how quickly it heats the water. The blue lightning is a nice touch. And the price is right. I am left handed, so when filling the kettle the water level markings are on the opposite side, not a problem. Markings on both sides of the kettle would be helpful.

Love this! Very simple, switch off/on. Very nice to look at. Gets water boiling really fast and then switches off. Great size, enough for at least 4 big cups of tea. The only plastic is the handle and it stays cool throughout process.

The kettle feels solid and well-made, with a sturdy handle that stays cool and a lid that opens smoothly for easy filling and cleaning. I also appreciate the auto shut-off and boil-dry protection, which adds peace of mind and makes it safe to use daily.

Convenient, does not take up a lot of counter space. Boils water quickly and the handle is comfortable.

I really like that it is an all glass pot. It’s super easy to keep clean and boils water quickly. The blue LED lights are very pretty shining within the water letting you know that it’s turned on and getting hot. That’s my favorite esthetic and practical part. The black plastic and stainless steel bottom look great with the glass bowl, water and classy blue LED lights shining within. It’s a pretty pot. There are some minor issues. - The push button lid could have been better designed. It has a funny built in half way catch, unless you press down fully. That may be a ‘feature’ for some. - The water, when just getting started, can get noisy for a while. I don’t know if it’s materials of different types heating at different rates or what-not. But at first it can get loud, on occasion. I really don’t know why. - My wife wishes it had a temperature setting. She really likes her hot tea, just so! I just want it to get to boiling as soon as possible. It works great for me. Overall, I’m very pleased with it. I just hope it lasts a very long time. So far, so good!

I wrote an earlier review saying that this electric kettle had died. However, it was the electric outlet that wasn’t working. :-O !! It’s now heating up my water again and I’m happy! It is easy to clean. The automatic shut off makes me feel comfortable and confident when using the kettle. It’s very flexible since I’m able to heat more water when we have company or one cup when I’m using it myself. I would definitely purchase this electric kettle again.

Wanted to love this kettle but after only 3 months we noticed what I thought was loose tea from a broken bag. When it appeared again a day later after having been wiped out, I quickly realized that it was metal fragments from somewhere under the heating plate that were somehow getting into the kettle. When I bought the kettle I completed the info to receive a 1-year warranty. So today, I reached out to the manufacturer via chat. Over the course of about 90 minutes (yes, 90 minutes!) they tried to blame the fragments it on water quality/ hard water / build up and ultimately suggested I use vinegar to remove any build up. There was no build up because 1. we have a whole house filter and only use reverse osmosis water in the kettle, 2. I regularly cleaned the kettle with vinegar, 3. We don't have hard water - I've had it tested. We wipe the kettle out on a regular basis AND isn't build up from water usually white, not reddish brown. Next they repeatedly told me that their customer support only provides replacement parts and troubleshooting help but is not for warranty service. Then they informed me that since the kettle was sold by Amazon Services, they are responsible for honoring the 1-year warranty. Sounded like BS but I did as they asked and called Amazon who then called the manufacturer and confirmed that the manufacturer, MegaWise is responsible for warranty service. Amazon only covers the first 30 days. The Amazon rep tried to connected me with the rep at MegaWise and when Amazon disconnected the call, so did the MegaWise rep. Meanwhile, I still had the chat open from MegaWise customer support - the one who told me Amazon was responsible, so I filled her in on what happened and she reluctantly offered a one-time replacement. At that point, I was on my second call to Amazon. The Amazon rep, after hearing what I'd done to try and resolve the issue, immediately offered me a refund and apologized for the ridiculous inconvenience. At that point I declined the offer of a "one-time replacement" from the Live Chat rep at MegaWise and mentioned that I'd be sure to leave a detailed review of my experience with both the product and customer service. Check out the pictures, the kettle has a big design and or manufacturing flaw that doesn't properly seal the glass and metal together. The water gets trapped in the metal base of the kettle causing it to corrode and allowing metal flakes back into the kettle each time it boils. Dangerous. And why would you buy anything from a company that boast a 1-year warranty they never had any intention of honoring. They claim they "want you to be happy" It's even printed on the bottom edge of the kettle. However, it took me 90 minutes of live chat, and two calls to Amazon to get this resolved. Don't just stay away from this kettle, stay away from the company!

We purchased this kettle about a year ago. I anppreciate the automatic shut off feature, and it’s fairly quick to boil. Unfortunately we were running into an electrical issue with it recently, but were very happy with the Megawise customer service. They were easy to contact and replaced the kettle with a new one which is no longer having the same issue.

I didn't need anything fancy, I was just sick of microwaving my mug of water for tea. Given the price, it was more ideal to get one of these than the traditional stove top-type kettles. This was perfect for my needs, takes a bit of time to boil, but probably not any longer than it would on the stove. As an added plus, turn down the lights and you've got a neon blue bubbling light show. How long it lasts, well that's yet to be determined...

Love this kettle. A few months in, mine shorted out and stopped working. I contacted megawise and after sending them a video of the kettle not boiling water, they sent a replacement kettle. They followed up to make sure I received the new kettle. Extremely good customer service from this company. They are very attentive to making sure I was happy and satisfied. I would recommend purchasing from them all day long.
