Great potty!
Have had this about 8 months and works great! The opening is a little small for a 2 year old, though he is very tall. We just make sure he's situated right and have had no problems so far. Used it as a potty, as a toilet seat for a regular toilet and as a step stool, and works great!

Stable toilet and stool
This is a good toilet for 2-3 year olds, though my older child has used it in an emergency. It is low to the ground and stable. The seat just rests on the bowl so can be cleaned very easily. I prefer the older version of the Disney toilets without the external noise-making handle as this makes the toilet less portable.

Pirate Potty Delivers Adventures in Parenting...You've been warned mattey! Argh!
This is a frustrating review to write because I want to like this. It's cute and fun, and looks to be incredibly multi-functional since it can be a step stool, big potty seat adapter, or a little potty. However, as many have pointed out, it's too small. You might think the cute factor and multi use factor can make you overlook this issue, but you would be wrong if you're potty training a boy. The urine stream "catch" is too low so it acts as a rest area for his pee shooter the second he sits down. If you can't convince your two-year old to tuck himself down, you're going to get a pee stream across the floor....and have to begrudgingly tell him "good job" for doing essentially one of the most obnoxious things many grown men still haven't mastered (the last thing we need to do in this world is train more boys to miss a toilet). This is especially true if he lounges back. On the other hand, if he sits further back on the seat and leans forward, the urine issue is fine, but in the event that evacuation method #2 ensues, he's going to press a floppy ploppy onto the seat that spreads out like pancake batter smooshed between his tush and the seat. Once this happens, you'll frantically be looking for a baby wipe to clean him up while he's shouting that he "did it," playing with the flush knob, and dripping mini turds from his tush onto the floor that he then steps in and tracks around during his victory dance. It was like a Dexter scene with poop. This is not hypothetical. It was real, and it was awful. But ya, it looks super-cute in the picture!

quality is good..
quality is good... made the desperate mistake of getting this my boy did not like it he just was not ready. don't rush it if you don't have to they will go when they are ready my boy was just turning two when he just started going in the regular toilet..... also the lever only makes one sound clap .... wish it would say some encouraging words.... i might even keep it as a gag in the bathroom ...."nice job" "that was one touch hurdle" lol.....

Cute but did not do the trick
Super cute toilet seat but both my son and daughter that it was more of a toy than a toilet seat. They do sit on it from time to time and love to hit the flush pull handle that is located on the side but other that that I really was not actually able to use it as a training toilet. I did try to place the yellow portion of the seat on our regular toilet seat because it does state you can use it as that and it is not sturdy enough to hold. We keep it in the bathroom but have found that a regular child toilet cover that can be place on our regular toilet seat has been more helpful when it comes to training than the actual Jake seat. Hope this helps and happy training

Easy Potty Training
This is such a cute potty chair! The kids love it when it talks to them! Being able to also use it for a step stool to stand on and brush their teeth all by themselves is a plus too! Since we have twins, of course i bought two... lol I will definitely buy another when the baby reaches "that age"!

"Cool"
It looks sturdy and very nice looking and feel. My son loves everything Jake the Pirate, so when I asked him to use it as a potty he refuses using it. He plays with it instead... Oh well, I guess he isn't ready yet hahaha. But it's true, he keeps saying cool cool whenever he plays with it.

Daughter prefers it over her princess potty
I have a small arsenal of supplies for potty training my daughter. She's started with a princess potty which shes doing well with, but I wanted to give her another one for the other side of the house and to get used to using different potties. She loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates so we decided to give this one a try. I have mixed feelings about it, but over all the good outweighs the bad. Pros: Good- stable design on the base Comfy/Squishy foam seat Really cool treasure chest design. I'm sure the other kinds are equally well designed The top portion (the plastic part and the squishy) seat fit on the regular toilet to provide continuity in the transition to the big potty The seat is about inches off the ground - the perfect height for my newly-minted two-year-old to sit on Cons: The top part doesn't stay on very well It's kind of difficult to put together - not too bad, but a 2-hand job The "flush" gives a generic cheer - rather than something Jake-ish (like "Yo Ho! Way to Go!") My daughter likes this one better than the princess potty, so that's alright with me.

My grandson loves this potty seat as well as his other Jake one. You can never have enough potty seats around the house while trying to train a toddler.
