GREAT drive, fast and small!
I got my previous portable storage solution, the platter-based HDD WD My Passport Ultra in 2TB capacity, back in mid-2015. It's held up for almost eight years and I've been very proud of it. Recently it started to click, most likely meaning that it is on its way out. I take that to mean that the read-write head is striking the inside of the case on occasion. It actually happens maybe only once every two or three minutes when it's idle. So, maybe it's not that bad. And I could retire it to use as an only-occasionally backup drive - when I was copying and moving content from it to the new drive so it could be more easily accessible, the clicking did not occur nearly as often, so maybe I was worried for not much. Which is, fortunately, not an issue at all with the new SSD that I got just recently: Crucial X6! Same capacity, taking up the same position on my desk, but incredibly small - and no moving parts to wear out! YAY! Though of course I don't know for sure, I imagine that the inside is a small form-factor M.2 drive flanked with heat spreaders - the only other option is that the drive takes up the entire space inside the case. Either way, the drive is awesome and performs quite quickly for any number of applications. Much more quickly than the old magnetic drive, that's for sure. A weird thing is that it does not like CrystalDiskMark - creating its test file and then the speed test on it, well, takes a lot longer than I thought it would, whether I keep it on the default of 1 GB or go down to 128 MB. This makes this program unreliable for speed tests in my configuration - if I did not stop the test and let it show the speed that it determined, it would likely be much slower than the actual drive’s speed. Speaking of my configuration: my computer does not have a USBC port on it natively, and this drive only has a USBC port on it, most likely to save on space and keep the drive as miniscule as it possibly can be. Thus, I had to get a USBC to USBA adapter cable, which I had gotten before for use with another drive. As far as I can tell, without being able to use a benchmark program as previously stated, the functionality and speed is fine with this SUNGUY brand cable. And the cable is fairly snazzy as well as you can see, its nylon-esque cover being braided! Back at its inception two years ago, this drive was incredibly expensive at $285, and it was only available in 1 and 2 TB variants - now there's a 4 terabyte variant which I may get sometime. I was able to get this 2 TB variant for $110 and I am very happy about that. In retrospect, it might have been a bit better to be a bit more circumspect about my purchase and spend the extra $20 on the X8, which comes with its own USBA adapter and is apparently faster? (limited by the USBA connection, of course) But that's all right - this will do for me for now, and I'm sure that somewhere down the line I will get the X8 as well, and repurpose this drive for maybe an extra storage device for my Xbox One - or the other way around. Goodness knows it's slow enough with its magnetic drive built in. So yeah. get this drive if you want a little extra capacity and you're able to find a good spot for it to sit on your desk. Since it is so lightweight and small and thus likely to get lost if you don't secure it, I do highly recommend getting cable clips like those little adhesive/silicone ones that can grab onto cables and hold things securely in place - the ones I got have the brand names of OHill, ChefBee and ONME (yeah, I have lots of cables that need securing! ) and are sold here on Amazon for around $10, and come in both white and black (ONME had some Browns in their collection as you can see, but they stopped selling them over the past two years). Do some shopping as your needs entail 🙂 Take care, awesome fellow computer people, and happy storing!

Nice additional storage, compact size
I bought this for my son's laptop and it works great. The compact size allows for it to not be in the way and setup was quick and easy.

Portable, Practical, Perfect!
This portable SSD is so convenient, its small size makes it easy to take it anywhere with you. I use it to backup big files and it does it efficiently and quickly! In my experience it has never overheated nor have any issue with it.

Amazing drive with a great unspoken feature
This is a great price for this size of m2.0. It comes with a cord, It is small and able to fit in a pocket, It has a shock proof shell It is water/coffee proof And When opening for the first time this drive comes with a small re-writting program. Nothing could be better save the drive sive being labeled as the correct storage rate size. Labeled as a 1tb this is actually a 960gb due to drive access write functions at base level code (cannot be removed) or changed unless complete chip re-write is done, the drive remains the same 960gb storage cap.

Great Value, Quite Fast Transfer Rates for Smaller Files
This SSD is plenty fast when transferring smaller amounts of data. If you need to transfer a few hundred gigabytes or more at one time, the transfer rate does drop significantly, most likely due to the significant heating flash memory experiences when it's being written to. I was able to continuously transfer a terabyte of data to it in less than two hours. This is relatively slow for an SSD, but once it's on the drive, the data is all there and seems very stable. Now that I've filled it up, I don't plan any more long, slow transfers and I expect it will work as fast as other external SSDs. Read rates are very quick, which I think is what counts for most applications. For the price, this drive is a bargain. It easily fits into a pocket and is very lightweight. It comes with a USB C male to USB C male cable, which can also be used with older USB A ports with a small adapter you'll need to buy separately. The U.S. company that makes the drive, Micron, has been around for many years and knows how to make high quality semiconductors, so this is not a no-name brand - it's one you can trust.

Works with my XBox Series S
I got the 2TB version of this SSD for use as external storage for my XBox. However, since the XBox only has USB A ports, I couldn't use the cable (which expects a USB C port) supplied with this SSD. No problem, for around $10 I just bought a 2 pack of USB 3.1 (A to C) cables, and used one of those (separately bought) cables with my XBox and this SSD. And when I plugged this SSD into my XBox (via the new cable) the XBox immediately saw this SSD as "external storage" and offered to let me format it for storing games. And after format, I was able to move all the games I wanted to this new SSD (and even tested playing some of them directly from this SSD). And the really good news is that this SSD seems to be only slightly slower than the builtin "internal" storage of the console itself, and much faster than the speed of my external hard disk. And while some XBox games will only run from the "internal storage" of the console itself, most XBox games are happy to run from external storage (such as this SSD). As a result, the games I play that require "internal storage" get put on my console's limited internal space, but I can put other games I'm playing on this external SSD. This arrangement gives me a lot more storage space for games, while still only having a minimal increase on game loading times.

Works relatively well with little to no issues. Just a little slow as others have mentioned, but otherwise is a good affordable SSD

I looked at the 1 Star ratings and cannot relate to the problems some people are facing. It works well for me. Compact physical size. Doesn't have this rubbery cover that goes all yucky after a while and as far as lost data is concerned, I do not use these drives as my only storage for critical files but rather as a portable copy of data for when I am on the road. Great item. I am very happy with it.
