The doctor ordered me to get more fiber. Being diabetic, most edible fiber spikes my blood sugar. This product fits my bill. I use it in my morning coffee and sometimes in my baking or other foods. It blends in easily and is tasteless. It works for me with regular use. I thought I was buying two large containers, so was unhappy with the size of the product versus the cost.

Great value and works as expected!

I been purchasing Benefiber for my Mom for quite some time, but it's been getting difficult to find it at a reasonable price anymore (or find it at all). I gave this a try since it has the same ingredient as Benefiber. I've been pleased with the results. It dissolves well, but does take a little more stirring than Benefiber to completely dissolve since the granules seem to be a bit larger than Benefiber. But, once dissolved, there is no gritty taste. Very smooth and easy to drink. It is unflavored, so I mix in some Crystal Light to make it taste better. It would be great if it came in a flavored version or in the individual packs as the Benefiber does. But even as an unflavored bulk package it's a great deal compared with Benefiber. My local Walmart does not carry it - so pleased to be able to get it on Amazon! Edit: March 2013 -- Sams Club is now carrying this under their own brand. Same stuff, nice price if you're a Sam's member.

Nice way to add fiber into one’s diet. Dissolves well in hot liquids and no flavor.

Ok, so this is a dietary supplement to provide fiber to aid in ... bodily functions. It seems to help keep the "stuff" softer and easier to get rid of. The fiber dissolves easily and quickly in any liquid or soft, mushy food, like mashed potatoes. No flavor, and only a very slight, almost invisible, yellow coloring if dissolved in a very small amount of water. It does not turn the liquid into a gel; I've had the solution sitting in a water bottle for a couple of days without any difference in fluidity. If I use the same bottle for like fifteen or twenty uses, after a while there's a slight, clear buildup on the inside of the bottle, but it can be washed out. I don't recommend putting it in carbonated drinks; it seems to help make the foam on root beer, etc., a little more voluminous. Dextrin is often made from wheat, but it is supposedly gluten-free and ok for people with celiac disease (check that out for yourself, if it's appropriate).

I have been using this product for 20 years. I put this in my coffee every morning. I find this helps with my gut issues.
