Q: Can you apply the digital effects to just certain inputs like 2 mics, but leave the music alone? I'm looking to upgrade from the 802 without FX.

I believe there is an fx knob on each channel so you can add as much or as little fx as you want. You can only use 1 setting at a time. You can't put reverb on one track and chorus on another. You get 1 fx for all the tracks.

Q: Is this effects mixer good for Karaoke?

A mixer does not, in fact, record anything. It acts as a go-between from your microphones to your computer (or other recording device). The plus to having a mixer is that you can have multiple microphone inputs with XLR cables and adjust the volume levels for each one separately. For this board in particular, you'll need a 1/4" L/R to single 3.5mm headphone cable (like this one that I used: http://amzn.to/2z1BGDG). That will run from the Main Out on the board to your microphone input on your PC or laptop. If you're looking to start a podcast from scratch and already have a computer with recording software like Audacity, Audition, etc. You'll need not only this board, but also some microphones, stands, XLR cables, and the cable I mentioned above. Depending on your type of podcast, if it's just you talking, you might be better off starting with a single USB mic (Like the Blue Yeti or Blue Snowball) which will allow you to go without the need for an audio mixer, cables, etc. The plus side of getting the board right away is that mics can be pretty cheap (we use a Behringer microphone set that we picked up: http://amzn.to/2yjdQWO). It allows you to have multiple hosts and keep your audio levels sounding good for each. As a fair warning with this board, there is no built-in on/off switch, so it needs to be unplugged after use (it seems to get pretty hot if you leave it plugged in all the time). This isn't much of an issue for me, more of a mild inconvenience, but I know that might be a deal breaker for some.

Q: 1202FX has long echo effect. Does it provide good echo effect as that of other mixers? Is echo effect is also in Behringer 802 mixer?

I am very happy with the reverb and echo effects. I have the 1202FX. you have total control, I have a much bigger control and cost more but I like the control I have with the 1202FX reverb. I ran a 5 piece band with big equipment and this mixer could have ran the whole show. Wish I could have had it in the day. I would consider myself a pro, made a living at it for several years.
