Working well for what it is designed to do
Received on time, works as advertised, was able to identify ethernet runs easily by using in combination with the Southwire probe (has to be purchased separately), the build quality of the product is very good.

This is the Cable Tester you were looking for
to give perspective.... i am not a professional installer. i have a home network with ethernet drops in almost every room and it is all switched in a wiring closet.the case is sturdy. when shopping for a cable tester i saw cheaper ones that sounded good but the construction was reportedly flimsy.the display is easy to read. the functionality is very simple so you aren't going to have to find the manual every time you use it.it'll test phone (RJ11), coax and Data (RJ45).it can do mapping and it came with RJ45 and coax maps (5 each).it can also test cable wiring for RJ11 & RJ45. the best part about this is the remote end of the tested sits in the tester in a way that you can plug a cable into it. this allows you to leave it as a single unit and test a short cable.

Southwire Quality, Must have for any tech toolkit
Great tool, quickly helps me identify issues in the field, or to spot check ethernet cabling and shielding. Includes a tone generator for tracing. Also comes with 5 ID ports for both RJ45 and Coax, although working in networking I haven't had to trace co-ax yet. Can be expanded for ID-ing up to 20 ports both RJ45 and Coax with an additional kit, but 5 suits me well.Solid Southwire product, a must have for your tech tool kit, especially if the guy wiring some of the offices you serve as an MSP isn't the best. Some slapdash CAT5 drops have caused some odd issues once in a while, that this unit can quickly ID. I love being able to identify network issues at the cable drop within seconds instead of our old school 'light up' tester, or worse troubleshooting why machines won't pull DHCP.Most recently used to snake shielded CAT6A through my attic to wire to Ubiquiti LR Access Points to future proof my home network a bit. Was able to quickly verify the integrity of the pre-terminated CAT6A, and that it was shielded with this tool.
