If you are thinking about getting these - DO IT. They are PHENOMENAL. I HATE WEIGHTS - HATE THEM - refuse to do them. I thought - hey will these work as "weights"? You bet they will. You can use as resistance weights while you lap swim, if you wear a training snorkel. You can punch forward or downward as you kick for an INSANE workout. You can also use them in the breast stroke and keep your legs straight for a pec workout, too. I have sculpted my shoulders and triceps with these and absolutely love them. I use them EVERY SINGLE MORNING. I prefer the wall lane, and I hit the wall a LOT because of the narrowness of the pool lanes and also when I just misjudge my perception of where the wall is and I have NEVER cracked, chipped or broken one of them. I listen to hard core techno remixes and jam out - and yes, even pseudo-dance under water during laps (with waterproof bone conducting headphones that ROCK with ear plugs) and sometimes get crazy with my punches, so I have knocked the heck out of the wall before - no damage - they are TOUGH. They store in my TYR mesh bag with my fins, goggles, training snorkel and hand paddles easily. These things are CRAZY - you will be out of breath wondering WHY you did this to yourself - that is until you start noticing never before seen muscles popping out of your arms and a more sculpted shoulders to neck silhouette - these are a GAME CHANGER. I do NOT work for them, I wish I had though - the discount would have been cool - but if they are hiring in sales, I should totally join them, haha - these are INCREDIBLE.

I'm amazed that I even made this purchase. I find it really hard to justify buying products that are 100% made of plastic, especially when the price doesn't reflect it. However, I decided to give it a try, assuming I'd likely return them anyways. I humbly admit I was wrong. The first thing I noticed when I unboxed these bells was the quality. Yes, plastic. No, not cheap, thin, and fragile. I also happened to notice a Made in the USA marking! Nice!! As far as working as intended... Yes! These provide much better resistance than those foam barbells. You aren't going to get the same kind of workout as traditional weights at a gym, but this is pretty good. You can get a decent little workout in 15-20 minutes. You can think of it more like a warm-up if you want, but added in to a regular swimming routine - you will see results. I think these are fun to use, work as intended, provide decent resistance and I would absolutely recommend over any foam alternative.

I first used these at a Y I was visiting and loved them so much I had to get my own to use. Love that they don't make you float like the form ones. I have bad arthritis in my hands and when I'm having a bad day I just put my fist in and they still work. I use them 5 days a week. Several people have asked to try them and loved them but they say the cost is too high.

Great water resistance. These are larger than the medium resistance pair but are quite a bit heavier in comparison.
