Excellent brush pens
I’m a novice to brush pens, and watercolours - as a rule I prefer pencils or acrylic paint. Bought these on a whim, though not completely without knowledge re art materials. Thus far, whilst practising with them, getting used to how they perform, I have to say I’m pleased. The colours are lovely, vibrant, the pigment hold well once dry. The brush part ... again I’m pleased with how well the brush aspect performs. The ink is fluid, you can alter the colour depth, stroke, lines. I did think I’d turn to the use of fine liner brushes but the need hasn’t arisen as yet. I’ve included a couple of photos. The paper is mixed media, 250g, natural rather than white and its not wholly intended for watercolours. I’ve allowed for a fair bit of water whilst painting, and there was slight buckling, though once dried there’s wasn’t any after effects. The cost of the pens versus the quality makes them a recommended purchase in my opinion, I will buy from the manufacture again, and I’ll stick with there brush pens once I’ve mastered the fun that painting with watercolours is fast becoming. Brilliant for students, artists on a budget, those looking to dip their toes into the watercolour pool. NB: do make sure you use at least a mixed media pad, or simply buy a watercolour pad when you buy the pens.

Decent beginners set
You get what you pay for, they're "alright" as a beginners set or if you're experimenting with a new medium. I'd rate them 3.5 stars but amazon won't let me. Pros: - Vibrant colours - water brushes are decent and versatile - affordable Cons: - they're not labelled! This really ticked me off and I had to number them myself - colours aren't representative of the colour on the pen (hence the need for labelling as some of them are quite off) - 3 of the colours are like highlighters, who paint/draws with highlighters?!

7 Yr old niece loves these! We made xmas cards :)
I bought these ink pens because they were on sale for a great price and I just couldn’t resist! They’re really fun to use. I’ve only used them once so far to make Christmas cards for family. They’re fun to use. Easy to use but the water brushes you fill are hard to open. I haven’t been able to open them yet actually! Luckily I bought a separate set of water pen brush type things which are much easier to open so I used those instead. I haven’t painted anything in a few years and haven’t used water colours in 15+ years so I’m quite rusty and it’ll take me some time to figure out the best way to water down and blend the ink colours. Oh, one bad thing is that if I didn’t blend the ink within maybe 20 seconds it would leave a faint yet permanent mark that I couldn’t blend out. That was on the cards I was painting so I can’t say if it will be the same for proper water colour paper... but take note just in case! All in all I highly recommend. My niece (age 7) found them easy to use too.

Best thing I've ever bought
Wow totally blown away. I've never got on with watercolour and have always used oil or acrylic but I've started illustrating and for this I've really wanted to start using water colours. Wow. What a game changer. It just makes it so easy and I can go into incredible detail because the pens have so much control. I absolutely love them.

So easy to blend
Like painting but with a felt tip pens. Colours blend seamingly or from faint to dark by using the water brush. My art skills are rubbish, but even I have managed to blend or create shading / fading with these pens Fun to use. P.s Works better on a glossy / hard wearing paper as the paper can end up peeling and clumping into little rolls abit like when you use an eraser to much and the paper wears away. (Like using the rough end of the half blue/red erasers)

Work great but not perfect
I’m no artist so definitely take with a grain of salt. The pens are easy to use and are fine enough to do some detail. They do run dry with wide useage but will “refill” if you rest them so that’s ok. They layer well and are buildable. I haven’t tried on watercolour paper and using the water pens on colour books just blurs/bleeds rather than blending but that’s understandable. I wish there were some more key colours like white for making tons lighter and skin tone. I’m sure there’s ways to create these but without deep knowledge of colour theory I can’t. So they’re great, especially for the price. As a novice I’m happy with them and I’m sure someone with more experience can make good use of them :)

I have to say, I am very inexperienced with watercolor markers. The very first set of 12 I purchased, was about a year ago. I used them a few times, but after that, I've been distracted by acrylic painting and my alcohol markers. However, I was looking around here last week and saw this set. My immediate response was "there is no way these are only $4.99!!" Lucky for me - they were! I could not wait for them to get here. I figured that, like with a lot of art materials, if you're able to get you a really good set of something, then you need to know how to use it correctly and how to take care of it so it will last. I'm actually glad I did some research and whatnot before using these because it turned out I had used my last set wrong!! And no, I'm not going to elaborate on that lol. Now, as for this beautiful set here... They are packaged really nice in a sturdy box and are put into 4 trays. The trays themselves are actually really durable, which kind of surprised me cause most of those I've seen have been flimsy. Not these. Along with the 48 gorgeous colors, you also get 2 blender markers you fill up with water. One has a long brush tip and the other one is a bit shorter. It looks like it is more of a chisel tip, but I have yet to do anything with it, so it's possible it too is a brush tip. I would imagine it is all things considering. The variety of colors in this set is very impressive. Plus, they are really pigmented quite well!! The individual brush hairs of the tips are made with care, attention to detail, and good quality materials - this you can see by just looking at them up close, as well as getting on Google and seeing what qualities a good quality brush tip. And I have to say as well, while I was browsing Google about proper usage and everything, I did look into the company who makes these. And after reading everything I have, I am even more excited, happy, and proud that I got these!! I highly recommend this amazing set to anyone who is an art lover like me, or even if you just like watercolor, or maybe you're just wanting to do something different - regardless of the reason, I know that you are going to love this set of watercolor markers. The only thing I will say is if you do choose to get them, please make sure you use them on some pretty thick, good quality sketchbook paper. Hot press and cold press are extremely good examples of what kind of paper to use. But if you are like me and have to budget everything, a good sized spiral art sketchbook will do just fine. That's what I used for my swatch picture. Will I be purchasing these again in the future?? Oh absolutely I will and they are going to be a bigger set too lol!!
