Amazing instrument for a great price
Amazing instrument for a great price. Such a great sounding, feeling and playing guitar. I have been playing guitar for 26 years and this is the finest Acoustic and Acoustic-Electric that I have ever played. I almost purchased the Martin D28V but after reading the reviews online about this Blueridge model, I took the jump and am happy I did. My guitar arrived in perfect condition but I can definitely see how some folks are concerned (rightly so) about the flimsy packaging. I purposefully chose the 1 day shipping so it wouldn't have to spend so long in transit, hoping to avoid any damage. I wish they had included a case, even if just a junker, for shipping. No matter, though, as the guitar arrived in tip top shape and I purchased a Road Runner Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar case from Guitar Center the day that it arrived. Before deciding on this particular guitar, I tried out the Martin D28V, 3 Taylor models, 2 Breedlove models, a Gibson Acoustic and an Epiphone Masterbilt 500. Some folks might think the action is a bit high, but it is perfect for chording and fingerstyle playing, in my opinion. My low action guitars are Electric (Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro and an Ibanez Jem 7vwh Prestige Steve Vai Signature) and I like my Acoustics to sound and play like an Acoustic should. All in all, I rate this guitar a full 5 stars and I heartily, heartily recommend this brand and model to everyone looking for an amazing, sub-$1000 guitar that will blow you away and give you many years of pleasure! Thank you Saga Music and Amazon!

My "Chinese Martin" sounds better than one made in USA IMO.
I've had this guitar for 3 weeks. I can't put it down. I picked with a friend who has a Martin D28 (from the 80s, I think there were some quality problems now addressed) and a Gibson Dove from the 60s. Both of us agreed the Blueridge sounded significantly better than both these American Guitars. The neck is smallish--perfect. Incredibly easy to fret. The electronics sound great in the PA. I've always heard it's dumb to buy a guitar on line when you can't hold it in your hands and play it 1st. If so, this is the smartest dumb decision I've ever made.

Great sounding guitar at less than half the cost of other comparable guitars
I was looking for a guitar that I could use for a variety of music, including bluegrass, acoustic rock, and church gospel. I have been very fortunate on the approx 5 decades of playing that I have acquire a few very nice sounding guitars, such as my HD-28, D-18v, and a Taylor 410CE. However I was looking for a solid rosewood body a/e that I could finger pick or strum. I had mahogany and canadian birch a/e's, and I was missing the bass sound in those, especially unplugged. Initially I wasn't considering Blueridge, but rather some of the new generation Martins and a couple of Taylors. It wasn't until I played the BR-164 CE that I was won over by the tone.I decided that based on the 164 that the 160CE would be even a better fit. The BR-160CE provided the bass and resonant that I was looking from the low E and A. A couple of other rosewood a/e I played which were more than twice the price of the Blueridge had a muddy, muffled sound. The 160CE had good projection and volume, enough volume to be a good finger picking guitar as well. Action was fast and low without any buzzing, though I normally prefer a mid-height action. There were no issues with flat picking, though if I was going to play only bluegrass, I would take one of the Martins for even more volume. By the same token, I found this guitar easier to play Led Zeppelin or other classic rock songs. The electronics fit what I need, in that it reproduces the natural sound of the guitar. I prefer these electronics over the Expression System electronics. The tuner is also a nice touch. I am not wild about the headstock or the yellow color of the top, but this guitar was bought expressly for the sound. Also the neck is small, as compared to both the Martins and Taylor. I am not very sensitive about neck sizes, but I could see how some would have a problem with this smaller neck, and neck profile. The body is about 3/4" less deep that my HD-28. The guitar came with D'Addario EJ-16's, exactly what I would have used for this guitar. Finally, cost was never a consideration when I was trying guitars. I played over 60 guitars of about 10 different models.I narrowed down my choices to two other guitars that both have a street price of over $3000.The other two guitars were great, but the Blueridge is more versatile for me. Plus, traveling with a sub-$1000 guitar will mean less worry.
