Minions

The one that started it all. As is often the case, the first was the best, at least in the opinion of an adult. Regardless, it's a great movie that the whole family can actually enjoy together.

The Minions are absolutely the stars of the show, with their silly language and outlandish behavior. They never fail to bring a smile to your face, and there are countless moments of laugh-out-loud humor that appeal to both kids and adults. The side characters, including Scarlet Overkill (voiced by Sandra Bullock) and her husband Herb (voiced by Jon Hamm), are hilarious as well, and the voice acting is top-notch. The humor is universal, with clever visual gags that everyone can appreciate, regardless of age. The Minions DVD is perfect for family movie nights, especially if you need something that everyone, from little kids to adults, can enjoy. It’s full of silly humor, vibrant animation, and the endearing Minions that fans have come to love. Whether you’re revisiting the franchise or seeing it for the first time, it’s sure to bring laughter and joy to your living room.

This is an all-time great movie. Laugh everytime I watch it!

Yeah, I wasn't exactly thrilled when this movie came out. Minions have quickly overrun EVERYTHING and it came to a point where I was just sick of seeing them on everything I came across. Despite the overflow of merchandise, which is very annoying and off-putting for many, I decided I should at least give it one view. And...it's actually kind of adorable. It's true the minion's speech can get on people's nerves, but I found if I sort of tune them out and just watch the fantastic animation, it's fine. The side characters, though not amazing, are alright and even a bit fun; the main characters, Kevin, Bob and Stuart are each distinct in their own ways and Bob is probably the cutest thing ever. Though I have to say I love the villain in this movie!! Scarlett Overkill, though she has a "eh" backstory and motives, is just so much fun. Her interactions with her husband are cute and her overreactions are fun. The Overkill's seem to genuinely love one another, and it's so sweet. But...the beginning just sort of drags, and the end is just a little odd. I understand their trying to connect the movies and show how they met Gru, but it's still a bit off to me. Personally I enjoyed the movie most when it focused on the moments between the main villains and Kevin&co. The rest is ok. The narration does get on my nerves a bit and the jokes kind of fall flat in my opinion, but if you're just looking for something cute and aimless, it's a ok movie.

I saw this movie 5 times, both 3-D and regular (not convinced 3-D was worth the extra $$) and pre-ordered it. Despite some inconsistencies with Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 (such as why they speak so much more clearly, although still Minionese; and age progression of Gru), it's hard not to like the movie. (Love the scenes in the dungeon...) When it's not downright hilarious, the Minions' indomitable spirit on their quest is, at the very least, endearing. The 'violence' some have decried is no worse than that of the cartoons I grew up with - Tom & Jerry, Wyle E. Coyote & Roadrunner, Bugs Bunny, et al. - and the diatribe about it being Hollywood propaganda is over-reaching. If one looks hard enough, everything in the media, regardless of format or origin, might be categorized as propaganda. For those who say there is no storyline, did you catch a glimpse of a young Gru, his mom, and Dr. Nefario at Villain Con? As a prequel, maybe it's not as fabulous an 'origin' story as one might like. But there are enough humorous moments and quotables to make it a keeper. It opens up possibilities for other stories on how they got from London up to the point of the first Despicable Me film (I hear dissidents groaning - okay, don't go to any more Minion-related movies). Last, but not least: how many people stayed through the end credits and then stayed longer? There are essentially two "encores", but if you don't stick around until the very absolute end, you'll miss them.

LAでは古本屋で買えなかった。ブルーXXXなら買えたが高かったから止めた。日本に帰国して、アマゾン社から購入できた。ありがとうございます。私のように、数十年海外に居住していると、日本語より英語の方が楽です。だから、日本語吹替などしないで、そのままの英語でよいし、日本語のタイトルを付けないで欲しい。 海外のDVDなどは、そのまま輸入すべきだと思う。英語・スペイン語・フランス語の吹き替えがある。 なお、日本語吹き替えは迫力感が無い。又、おかしな日本語で訳しているのが多い。

Même si je n'ai pas reçu mon blu ray, j'ai pu l'acheter ailleurs ! Je n'ai qu'un mot à dire, ce film d'animation est GENIAL ! Je l'ai vu au ciné pour mon anniv', et j'attendais de pouvoir le revoir avec impatience ! Ces Minions ont fantastiques, leur envole est parfaitement réussit. Qui plus est, cet Opus vient se positionner, parfaitement, juste après, "Moi moche et méchant", puisqu'il s'arrête juste après que Kévin, Bob Stewart et tous leur amis aient fait la connaissance du papa adoptif de Agnès et ses soeurs !! JE SUIS FAN A 100000 % !

Le film est très agréable mais ce produit vient des USA. Donc pas de problème pour le Blu-Ray mais le dvd est impossible à visionner. Le prix est correct mais cela avait été précisé dans le descriptif je n'aurais pas acheté cette version.
