The New York Times Acrostic Puzzles Volume 8

Challenging and a great format
I don't know what people are complaining about. These are meant to be difficult! If you're not up on art or music or literature, then solve them in another manner, or cheat. My three books in this series are assembled well, I found one typo, and the ring-format is very easy to use. If you get duplicated or missing pages, then get a refund and a new book, but don't blame the content!!

A fun collection of acrostics
These puzzles are the right level of difficulty for me. I am usually able to solve them in an hour or so, often in more than one sitting. For two of ten so far, I had to use the internet to complete two of the words in the bottom section, and then was able to take it from there.

five stars times fifty
i am an acrostic nut, so as long as the puzzles are difficult and 'do-able' i'll always give a book of them five stars. these puzzles fit that bill - i'm up to number 42 and have finished all of them with no 'cheating' but none have been a 'walk-in-the-park. unfortunately, the only problem i have with them is the difficulty in reading the numbers/letters but that has to do with my aging eyes.

good puzzles to past the day
challenging, acrostic puzzles.I like that they don't use off the wall words that only a linguist would readily know, but I don't like that they answers are often phrases with key sections omitted.

hours of enjoyment
Endless hours of learning enjoyment. Full of various topics including history, science, vocabulary, etc. Answers are in the back of the book. However, I try not to use them. I find it takes some reference material from which I've gained much knowledge. I find encyclopedia, thesaurus, dictionary & the Bible the most helpful. The material is taken from the recent past rather than current events, which I find shows where we are today.

Challenging
These are much harder to complete than your average daily crossword puzzle.

Now I'm a senior and I still love doing them
What can I say? I'm a puzzle person. Have been doing acrostic since I was a teenager. Now I'm a senior and I still love doing them. These are great, the harder the better.
