The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism Review: This book gives a great point of view from the writer, and will help you understand coping skills - I LOVED this book. Temple Grandin is a god send. Not only does this book give the Point Of View of someone on the spectrum but also helps you to understand what it is they may be needing. As a family with several family member with ADHD, Anxiety issues, and Asperger's, it has helped ALL of us to understand what they may need and how to help them to overcome any obstacles. Review: Do You Wonder What is Autism? - In 1964 I was a parent helper at a cooperative preschool in North Carolina. There was a bright nonverbal 5 yr old in my daughter's 3 yr old group. I had never heard the word autistic in early childhood education in college. The teacher in the class had about 30 years experience with preschool children. She didn't know what was wrong with him either but she knew he was bright. He was pretty much ignored by the other children. He played by himself next to them. He liked to swing. The only time we had a problem was when I spilled the juice. His reaction was that he went catatonic on me. Fortunately, the teacher took him aside and everything went back to normal. Temple Grandin's book has opened my eyes to the world of the autistic child. I would recommend this book to anyone to better understand the condition, education, employment and hope for the future for anyone diagnosed with the spectrum. Temple is to be praised for opening the door to understanding this condition.

Well worth a read. I often find poor or non existent editing. This book is better than many but still needs the editor to do the job they are paid to do!
