The couch itself is wonderful! It’s extremely comfortable, and has all the bells and whistles we wanted. My husband especially loves it because he (as a 6’2, built like a truck man) is able to adjust the height of the headrest to fit his size, and adjust the lumber support after a long days work, which is nice on his back. And it has the wireless phone charger, which is great! It’s a slow charge, but a charge nonetheless. The only minor irritant of the couch is the buttons to turn on the overhead lights in the center. They are very sensitive (our cat has turned them on just by brushing his tail over them), so we have to be carful not to bump them if we have the center down. Because this review is about the product, I gave it 5 stars because I don’t have any issues with the couch. HOWEVER, the delivery company was AWFUL! I ordered the couch on August 1st, and set the delivery date as August 15th (the earliest I could have it delivered was August 10th, but I went further out to allow extra time in case of shipping delays). So the company had 2 weeks to contact me in case something needed to change. On August 11th, I went on Amazon to check the status of another package I had coming and I noticed that my delivery date got changed to August 14th (1 day earlier than I scheduled it for). It wasn’t a big deal because I was available to be home that day, but it was slightly irritating that the company didn’t call me to change it or even send me an email. They just arbitrarily changed a scheduled delivery and if I didn’t open Amazon, I wouldn’t have known. On August 13th (day before delivery) I get a call from the company confirming delivery and the window of time I chose. Day of delivery comes, no couch. I called 1 hour after my delivery window to check if they were still coming and they proceeded to inform me that they don’t come to my zip code on the day I chose. I asked why they didn’t contact me in the 2 weeks leading up to the delivery and why they called to confirm my delivery the day before if they weren’t actually going to bring it to me, and they just said “I don’t know.” Ok fine, nothing I can do about it now, so I reschedule for delivery on August 16th (a day they said they come to my zip code) and they assure me I will get it. My husband had to take time off work to sit at home waiting for the couch, and guess what? It wasn’t delivered. So I called the company again and was told “Oh sorry, we don’t delivery to your zip code today.” I was very upset at this point and asked why THEIR customer service would have scheduled my delivery for that day if they don’t come out here on those days. Mind you, we don’t live out in the middle of nowhere. I live 15 minutes outside of a large city in a town that is growing rapidly. The answer I got was the customer service reps aren’t privy to the routes of the warehouse workers, so they wouldn’t have known not to schedule for that day. I rescheduled for delivery the next day and was told someone from the warehouse would contact me to confirm if they would bring it out. They did and the couch was delivered on August 17th. When the delivery workers got there, they told me I had “basic delivery” which is where they bring in the box, set it down and leave. But if I wanted to give them $100, they would set it up for me and haul away the garbage from the box and plastic. I was over the whole situation and just wanted my couch set up, so I gave them $100 cash and they were in and out very quickly. At no point was there an option to have a different “type” of delivery, so I’m fairly certain the delivery workers are just coning people out of extra money, but at that point I didn’t care. Sorry for the long review, but if I had to do it all over again, I would have spent the extra money and just bought the couch directly from Ashley Furniture.

This thing is built like a tank. It ships vertically, standing up. The back is a bit more firm than I expected, but I suspect it will break in a little over time. The foot extension has a nice soft cushion on it for your heals. The leather feels very nice and the perforated seat area really does help keep things cool. The hinges on the arm storage areas are slow closing hinges - pretty neat. The motors are smooth and quiet. The powered headrest, lumbar, and recline all work smoothly with the arm rest controls. The usb wireless charger slot holds my iPhone nicely even with a case. The additional usb port is nice. There's a huge tall storage location under the center console hidden from view. Great for man stuff. If you plan to move this by yourself, you will definitely need some ratchet straps to put around the box for leverage. I'd recommend 2 or 3 individuals. One person could slide and lift it, but it will not be fun. It weighs around 300lbs. The box is about 29-30 inches wide on it's side. You can squeeze it a little if you need to... it bulges just a bit. The couch is bagged in cloth and plastic in the box. The actual couch is around 27-28 inches on it's side. There are 2 thumb screws attached to a strip of red plastic that are used to attach the center back rest. Took me a bit to find those. They are underneath near the zipper for the storage area where the middle backrest piece is. The couch does not creak at all when sitting on it even for 300+ lbs. Seems like this couch will last a while. It's expensive, but the second you try to move it or sit on it, you will feel it. Would I recommend this? Yes. If you're tired of cheap couches that creak and break and fall apart just from sitting on them, look no further. This couch is what you need. Shipping can take about a month, but it is worth the wait.

This faux leather reclining sofa in a weathered gray color arrived very well packaged in one huge box. Thankfully the delivery guys were kind enough to bring the box inside my condo and place it in my living room. Once my nephew and I removed all the packaging material, it was a relatively quick and easy process to insert the three back cushions into the base of the sofa and to connect the wires that controlled the reclining function, lights, and charging station. The sofa is extremely comfortable and the faux leather is soft to the touch with a very nice texture. The weathered gray color is absolutely perfect. Although I was somewhat worried about making such a large purchase without viewing and testing out this sofa in person, I am extremely happy with this Ashley Hyllmont Reclining Sofa. I’ve included photos of my new sofa, pillows, area rug, end table, and lamps. They were all purchased from Amazon.

UPDATED REVIEW: I'm sorry to write this review. It only gets worse. If you read below you saw that our sofa initially had problems opening/closing but it corrected. Well, we weren't so lucky. The sofa died fully extended on one side so I tried to make a warranty claim through Amazon. They connected me with an Ashley parts rep (very nice lady by the way) who told me that there was no service warranty since we bought it from the Amazon Ashley Store and not a local store. (This took over 2 hours BTW) Ashley will send parts for one year but the parts we need to repair it are not available for 4-6 weeks - best guess. Oh ... and I have to do the repairs myself or pay someone to do it. Buyer definitely beware! INITIAL POST We tested this at a local Ashley Store and liked it a lot. We found we could get it from the Amazon Ashley store for around $500 less and with faster delivery. The store could not match the Amazon price? Go figure? At any rate, it was delivered in about 6 weeks on the day and time specified but the drivers implied that they would not carry it into the house. Only drop it on the driveway. This thing is HEAVY so no way we were going to get it into the house on our own. If they did not carry it into the house we would have been screwed. And it was a snowy, cold winter day so who knows what would have happened to the sofa sitting on the driveway. After a little "convincing" they eventually carried it into the house but we are in a ranch so it was pretty simple carry for them. After inside we cut off the cardboard to ensure nothing was wrong cosmetically and the driver briefly showed us how it went together and took off. We completed the assembly ourselves. It took me over 30 minutes to just break down the packing materials for recycling. So ... here we are with the sofa in the living room on top of the cardboard base with packing materials everywhere. It really is a mess. Luckily, we have these moving sliders and a lever for lifting furniture so we could get it off the cardboard and into the right place. Like I said, this thing is heavy and if we had not had this moving stuff we would have been in trouble. Wait ... there is more ... We plugged it in and the sofa recliners did not work on one side. Everything was plugged in. So ... we called the Ashely Support number on the card to be told that they would not support anything from the Amazon Ashley Store. They told me to call Amazon?!!! What?!!! At least she didn't hang up. After pleading with her for about 15 minutes, she told me to wait 30 minutes and then try again. I guess the circuitry needs to settle down? It worked. Too bad she was so difficult getting to that point. So, short version ... we got a good price on the sofa from Amazon, like it now very much and it is comfortable. But I have no idea how we would have gotten it into the house if the drivers had walked away, and the really poor customer service and documentation on the unit almost made this a return. No idea how that would have worked out ... not carrying it into Kohl's! I guess you need to decide if the dice roll is worth the savings. Good luck ...

This is a nice, comfortable couch that is perfect for watching movies or playing games. All functions worked for me as the product details. One thing to keep in mind is that it might not be the best for laying down or just lounging. It also has a coolness factor to it that makes it great for a man cave. I don't regret my purchase.

We really love this sofa, and it is very nice looking. All of the power mechanisms work smoothly and quietly. It feels sturdy and very well built. The wireless phone chargers fit and work great on our Iphone 13 Pro Max phones. I gave it 4 stars for comfort because it is a little stiff, but I think it will soften up after some use. I will update this score after a few months of use. I also gave it a score of 4 for support but this has nothing to do with the manufacturer but more for Amazon. When we ordered 2 of these it appeared it would include home delivery and setup. When they arrived a week late due to a snowstorm, obviously this is no one's fault we were in for a surprise. Xpo wanted to leave them in the garage and not bring them inside. These boxes are very heavy and about 3ft x 3ft and 7 feet long. Somehow my wife talked them into at least bringing them inside the house and setting the unopened boxes in the correct room. Thank you to the kind Xpo drivers who apparently went above and beyond what they were contracted to do by Amazon. My wife and I were able to unbox and assemble them in the room. The seat backs where easy to install and plug in and everything works great.

I would like to mention first and most of all- Ashley furniture has continued to bring valued purchases of some of the highest quality for our family. We have several pieces. We understood this when deciding on our next big purchase and always appreciate the ability to see products in their stores beforehand. I recommend it. This couch is gorgeous. The crosstiched pattern stands out; and for my preference having small children, it breaks up the smoothness of the fabric to help hide future imperfections. We had quite an amount of debate into shipping options. Even considering driving >100 miles to pick it up ourselves. MY ONLY reason for rating this purchase so low is due to the issues we had with shipping through NSD. We will never make a big item purchase through Amazon again because of this. You can check the wording on NSD's website for yourself to find why we thought it was the best decision. They hail massively on superiority, speed, and customer satisfaction. None of this was provided. Via tracking info- my item arrived a week early so I reached out to NSD directly to see when an earlier delivery date could be scheduled. They mentioned it hadn't even been scheduled yet and would call back. After not receiving a phone call, I checked tracking again the same evening to find that they scheduled it for a different day the next week...without talking to me at all. My husband needed to schedule out of work to be home- so this in itself was troubling, even setting aside the irritation around my item being in town already and I still had to wait another week to get it. The delivery day time frame was 9am -12pm. NSD gloats about their courtesy call 30 mins ahead of arrival. 12pm passed.... nothing. We reached out but could not get an ETA, so my husband just took the rest of the day off work. When we received our courtesy call they arrived fifty (50) minutes later. The drivers were nice and helpful. The saving grace is that this couch is lovely. If you are coming here to get information on the item- I love it, but I do not recommend buying through Amazon. We are also reaching out to BBB to make sure they are aware of the extremely misleading wording NSD holds on its website. My experience probably wouldn't have been as bad if expectations weren't set so high by the shipping company itself. Update: The BBB business profile for NSD (Non- Stop Delivery) is rated F / not accredited with multiple reviews & complaints filed of our same issues. Shame on Amazon for working with this company.

Some other reviews on here might cause you to hesitate. Trust me, this is a worthy purchase. All surfaces that you come in contact with are indeed leather. I’ve experienced no peeling nor do I anticipate any on the headrests. The leather is durable, thick, and not slick feeling. I had a new reclining loveseat from a popular company that charges way more. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a return policy so I bit the bullet, gave it away, and got this to replace it. It’s way more comfortable. The recline is sufficient for napping and the adjustable headrest and lumbar support make this ideal for TV marathons. Storage is generous and the controls are easy to reach and nicely tactile. This is a hidden gem and I recommend this purchase wholeheartedly.
