Fast, Stable, and Reliable Upgrade for Older Systems
Fast, Stable, and Reliable Upgrade for Older Systems I picked up the Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB kit (2x8GB DDR3-1600) to breathe new life into an older desktop, and it has done exactly that. Installation was as simple as snapping the modules into the DIMM slots—no adjustments needed in BIOS, as the system recognized the full 1600 MHz speed right away. Performance-wise, the difference is noticeable. Everyday tasks run smoother, and heavier applications that once struggled with 8GB now feel much more responsive. For gaming, it provides a stable boost, especially in titles that tend to be memory-hungry. Multitasking is also much easier, with far fewer slowdowns when running multiple browser tabs, streaming, and background apps. A big plus is that the sticks run cool and stable at the rated 1.5V. No crashes, no hiccups, just consistent performance. While DDR3 is an older standard now, this kit offers excellent value for those still running compatible systems and not ready to make the leap to DDR4 or DDR5. Bottom line: If you’ve got an older desktop and want an affordable, reliable upgrade, this Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB kit is a fantastic choice that delivers solid performance and stability.

I'm an ENGINEER FROM INTEL CORPORATION! MAX YOUR RAM & VIDEO CARD OUT & FLY TO THE MOON!
Great RAM! Works GREAT EVEN IN THE OLDER DELL OPTIPLEX 780 BUSINESS SYSTEMS. I UPGRADED THIS 4 Year Old Dell with 16Gig DDR3 RAM, And Intel CORE 2 DUO. I am a Computer Engineer at Intel Corporation! This Computer is Running Faster and Better than a NEW Desktop with 8Gig and an i5 Microprocessor. People do not understand, it is NOT the Microprocessor Speed that makes the computer run Fast! IT IS THE VIDEO MEMORY & THE RAM and BUS SPEED which is where your Bottle Neck is in a Computer. A 5 Year Old Intel PC with a High End Video Card and 16Gig DDR3 Memory SMOKES! There is no need to waste your money on a new $1500 Desktop when you can get a $70.00 Dell Optiplex, HP, Gateway, or Whatever Quad Core Intel and MAX OUT THE RAM & VIDEO CARD and BAM! YOUR PC IS LIKE A NEW MERCEDES OFF THE LOT! BE SURE TO INSTALL ALL 64 BIT WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL & OFFICE! Upgrade the CODECS from www.Download.com (these are the Video Files which Decode your DVD & Music Files for Windows Media Player) and your PC will last you another good 5+ years! I've build over 1000 computers in my life and I'm just letting you know the RAM & VIDEO CARD PCI EXPRESS 16 x 2 IS WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR COMPUTING EXPERIENCE WONDERFUL! It's Not all about the Microprocessor. Again today we all use HIGH VIDEO MEMORY for YouTube, Movies, Music, Gaming, Etc. So you need to be sure your Desktop has the MAX RAM and MAX VIDEO CARD YOU CAN GET FOR IT! Trust Me, You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE YOUR 5Year Old Desktop RUN BETTER THAN NEW! Correct speed in BIOS, Memtest reported no errors after 24hr pass, Windows 10 Preview is MUCH snappier now.
The only two brands I trust for my SSD's are Intel and Crucial, mainly used Corsair RAM in my main builds...but my next build may be getting a crucial kit after being impressed by this package. Worked out of the box with an unidentical stick of 4GB Patriot Intel Extreme Masters RAM with same timings. Using in my HTPC with AMD FX 8350 and MSI 970A-G46 w/8GB RAM with 2x Radeon 6850 in Crossfire (I know, dinosaur GPU.) Packaging was a tease (2xDIMM retail package with just the one stick) but was clearly labeled 4GB and fully sealed. The heat shield is a nice aesthetic touch in my Cooler Master HAF-XB EVO while chilling (literally) under a CM Hyper 212 cooler, no fitment issues (for those who have large coolers). I got lucky and the blue of the Patriot stick and the Black/Silver of the Crucial stick compliment my build fairly well. I run Steam in-home streaming, Plex Windows Server, Kodi, torrent clients, and a few Linux VM's simultaneously off of a Crucial M500 240GB SSD and the 8350 can really stretch its legs in this build. BIOS reported correct speed upon install, I'm a bit tired of seeing reviews that cry foul about the RAM being faulty when it loads up as 1333mhz or so. Ever consider that it's your motherboard, not the RAM, that is causing you such injustice? TL;DR Fast, cheap, reliable. Like a used Miata.

Doesn't RAM stand for Really Awesome Memory (Card)?
I built my first PC about a year and a half ago, and this is the RAM I decided to go with (because I had a low budget). I bought one 8 gig stick with the expectation that if I felt I needed it I would order more. Lately, I've been hosting a few servers off of my computer and my small amount of RAM didn't seem to do the trick. I ended up buying 16 gigabytes worth of RAM, just because it was so affordable. I would like to start by saying that the RAM itself works well! A lot of my stuff does seem to be functioning significantly faster, although I do think I would order one more stick, just so that I could have the full 32 gigabytes experience. I plugged my new RAM into the correct RAM (or at least I hope they were the correct ones) and my computer booted as it normally would and under system properties it did acknowledge the new RAM. The one issue I see to be having right now is my computer getting hotter than I am used to. My computer has a LED indicator that woks as a thermometer when it isn't screaming at me to fix some debug code. I cannot say for sure whether this is something that others have ran into, but I have noticed that when I enter an application that requires the extra RAM, my CPU heat seems to spike up about 15 degrees Celsius. I'm not too concerned about it, as my computer still hasn't passed 55 degrees Celsius.

Crucial Ballistix has a good reputation and it is really good. Its an amazing RAM for this price. The rating jumped to 7.8 on Win 7 x64 on Gigabyte GA Z77M D3H with Corei7 3770, ASUS GTX 760 and Samsung SSD 128 Gb. Instant plug and play. Fast boot is a charm. Been playing Tomb Raider 2013, Crysis 3, Mass Effect 3, Dead Space 3 and Remember Me on Ultra settings without any hiccups. Love it. Quick delivery too. Thanx.

Picked up this kit for $70 from Warehouse Deals distributor on here for my first PC build. Works great and my computer runs smoothly. Was so happy with it I recently decided to buy another kit (same price of $70) to fill my two other ram slots. These are nice and low profile which is why I bought them again; I'm about to install a Hyper 212 cooler and am hoping these small cards will fit under it if necessary. So small you can hardly see it in my build picture. Great budget ram. EDIT: Just installed my Hyper 212 evo and the cooler with fan clears this ram in all four slots! excellent product.

The product I received was ordered based on specs I already used in my PC (I ordered this to expand the ram). The ram is performing just as expected in unison with the old stick. Also, the delivery was received two days prior to the estimated arrival date.
