Perhaps The Best Battery-Powered Vacuum On The Market!
Outstanding vacuum with all the right stuff! Over the years, most of us have tried a few brands of hand-held vacuums with mixed results. This Makita is definitely the best I've found. Lots of suction, light and easy to maneuver, relatively quiet, super easy to clean, and the battery lasts surprisingly long. If needed, higher capacity batteries are also available. Even the accessory kit and wall mount are terrific. This is a top quality portable vacuum that really does the job. Yes, it is a bit spendy, but definitely worth the price. It will probably be the last portable vacuum I'll need to buy. Check it out for yourself. UPDATE 8/9/25: This Makita vacuum works so well, I bought a second one. We now have one for the house and another for the garage & cars. It's super easy to use, the battery quickly charges on my Makita fast charger (I own for my Makita power tools), the vacuum is super easy to keep clean, and it still works much better than any other handy vac we've owned over the years. Highly recommended!

Great Cordless Vacuum
With 3 dogs good vacuums are essential to keeping my home and car clean. We have a Dyson corded for the carpets and a Neato for the bedroom level of the house, which are both also excellent. But we needed something cordless to quickly clean up between full vacuuming days to remove the hair balls and tumbleweeds that gather in the corners and stairs. After much research I purchased the Makita primarily because it shares a charger and batteries with some of my other tools. After using the Makita I can say it is excellent. In as much time as it takes to set up my corded vacuum I can clean the 2 flights of stairs in my home, empty it and be finished. Being light and cordless it eliminates the awkward cord and hose dance on the staircase. It is also great for cleaning the hair and dirt from tile and wood floors very quickly. It will not replace a corded vacuum for use on carpets, which makes sense since it does not have a beater brush. Cleaning it is easy and the cloth/mesh filter is actually an advantage for this type of vacuum. Running them under the faucet removes all the dirt and dust without making a cloud. Cleaning the Dyson is a much more involved affair and is best done outside because a lot of dust is raised if you try to clean screens that protect the cyclonic portion. The Dyson is a great vacuum and much better for carpets, but the Makita is lighter, quicker to charge and easier to clean. Just keep in mind that it won't replace a full size vacuum. Having the ability to share batteries with my other Makita too is great. It's also great for cars.

Powerful, light, maneuverable, and fast charging!
Wow! This vacuum is impressive! First, I am a heavy Amazon shopper and this is the first product I have felt compelled to review in quite a while. This is a superb little vacuum and I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you already own other Makita 18v tools! I was debating between this and a highly rated Dyson knock-off cordless handheld vac. Ultimately the interchangeable battery and my love of my Makita 18v LXT drill driver set won me over and the extra money was well worth it! I bought the kit in white because it is classier looking and appears less like a power tool chillin’ in your living room. The 2 amp hour battery lasts surprisingly long, about 30 min of intermittent vacuuming. You do have to keep the trigger pressed for it to run, but this saves battery life when you are doing spot cleaning. The floor attachment works so good, can lay totally flat with a slight twist, and gets into the smallest spaces imaginable, under furniture, between chair legs, and behind toilets. I have a powerful corded vac, but this is going to be my daily cleaner for sure. AND I ended up with a second charging station AND I can use my bigger 5 amp hour battery from my drill kit if I really need longer time. The Makita lithium battery system charges SO fast that it clearly out-performs other little cordless vacs with built in batteries. This battery will charge in 20-30 minutes instead of the 3-6 hours of many other options. I’m SO glad I spent the extra on this vacuum! Makita continues to impress me with their lithium power tools!

Awesome dustbuster. Cheap addition
Love everything about this vacuum. When my dustbuster's battery died I was shocked to find out I couldn't just replace the battery, I had to trash my perfectly good vacuum and buy a new one. Every time. What??? In my quest to find a hand-held cordless vacuum with replaceable battery I found this jem. It's awesome! Battery charges in less than 30 min and lasts for hours! I don't actually know for how many hours, didn't had to recharge it yet. And I don't really need my big vacuum now, I wish I bought this one from the start! After reading the reviews I knew that the on/off button had to be pressed when vacuuming but couldn't bring myself to spend twice ($180 vs $90) for a new model with lock. So this is my easy fix: a jumbo clothespin from Dollar Tree - search on website "Essentials Jumbo Plastic Clothespins, 6-ct. Packs". I'm sure there are other jumbo clothespins out there but it was the type I already used and it fits perfectly! Now my 4 y.o. son is happy to help vacuuming the stairs (he missed this chore very much while I was looking for a new hand-held vacuum). The video shows the clothespin clamped over the on/off button, the photo shows the clothespin when the vacuum is not in use. The price seems too high at the first glance but after spending days trying to find the good hand vacuum with good suction, vacuuming time more than 12-15 min and replaceable battery the price is not so high anymore! And after buying the extra attachments (I'm planning to buy the cyclone attachment and hose) it becomes the main vacuum for the house so the price seems right! I wish they had more attachments available and in a set though. Some reviews (for the blue model mostly) state that it cracks after several months). I will update this review if it happens to me and how the company with respond with replacement.

Good portable vacuum cleaner with strong suction. Great in tight spaces. Two types of nozzle fit in to pipe of variable length so you can clean a room with a long pipe, then detail your car with a shorter pipe. Rather messy clean-out of the filter and dirt container - do it over a trash container or outside, not in the space you have just cleaned! ON-button does not have a lock so you have to maintain finger pressure on the button which is not always easy. Battery removal and plug-in to charger is a bit clunky with the need to press upwards on one end at the same time as pulling it out, then rotating the battery to match the yellow connections. Recharging is quick- about 10 minutes or so. If you intend to clean large areas of rugs or carpets, since there is no rotating brush on the Makita, you might be better off to consider a more expensive stick vacuum cleaner such as the Hoover Lynx. But the Makita is great for small jobs - and the price is right.
