Works great for my 10lb pom chi. He use to gag/cough after eating or drinking. We were told it was because of the bowls were too low and he was getting air as he ate. Since buying this food dish and making a platform for his pet fountain, he hasn't gagged once.

I purchased the first of two of these bowls because I have a Chihuahua with neck issues and I was advised by my vet that he needed to eat from an elevated bowl. I purchased a more traditional set of bowls from a local pet store and he didn't like the stand the bowls sat in--he wouldn't go near them. He's very timid, very un-Chihuahualike in temperament, and gets thrown off very easily. I saw this bowl on Amazon's Explore page and figured it would be much better. After a few days, he eats from it with no problem, although it was comical to watch him the first day approaching it. I have since purchased one for my second Chihuahua, who has no inhibitions about what she is served her food in. Her problem is that she pushes the light metal bowls all over the floor and they often get stuck in corners. This solved the problem immediately! I would definitely recommend this bowl to anyone with small dogs. They're attractive in design and easy to clean. They can also go in the dishwasher.

I like the bowl because it is really cute. We needed a pedestal bowl for our elderly dog who is having a hard time bending down to eat from his old bowl. My only wish is for the sides to be higher and the lip on the edge of the bowl to be more pronounced. When our dog eats from the bowl, pieces fall off the edge and end up on the floor. Otherwise, I am pleased with the purchase.

Excellent for my 16 pound dachshund. He has back problems and now, with this bowl, he does not have to lower his neck anymore..it's right at chest height. After much research, dogs really should be eating at chest height, where they don't have to lower their neck and head so much to eat. Totally stable, does not fall over...dishwasher safe and very nice looking. I realized that you can put it upside down and the underside can be used as a bowl as well - it's much deeper than the other side, but it's like having 2 in one. I am considering ordering the one for water but it may be too small, as I like to use a pretty large dish for water.

Unfortunately I had to return this item, but only because it was too small for my dog. It was absolutely adorable and just wish it was bigger. I hated to return it but it just didn't work with my dog. Beautifully packaged but needs a very small dog or a cat.

This is great. We have two Italian Greyhounds and each gets 1/2 cup of dry food in the morning and at night. It fits perfectly and looks super. Heavy enough not to get tipped over. We love them.

I bought two of these, one each for our two little dog kids, one is a Min Pin and one is a Chihuahua, because they are both getting older and the Min Pin was having neck pain. Both dog boys love their bowls; they eat slower and seem to enjoy their food more. I read up on it and found many vets feel dogs will often rush eating their meals to get the job done to lessen the pain in their necks from having to bend down to floor level.
