Rub with Love by Tom Douglas (Turkey, 3.5 oz)

I purchased this rub several years ago at a local sporting goods store. I have never been able to find it again until now. So, I purchased several jars of it....yes it's that good! When baking a turkey it makes the house smell soooo good not to mention it makes the turkey mouth watering!!!

I would buy again.

Very easy to apply after a good brine and towel dry, then wait about 15-20 minutes or so to get a little sweat of moisture on it, then its ready for your Pit. Maintain temps, between 225 and 250. (Temp control is very critical) Probe test for doneness. Pull it off when you have readings of 165 F in the breast for safe cooking. Also check the thigh temps... they should be 175F. Important to always put the leg portions facing toward the heat source since they must reach higher temps to finish safely. This seasoning is really great as long as you don't burn it with run away temps above 250. Love it... will use it often as a great go to for a good time saver.

The rub smelled very good and had lots of aroma but the flavor just did not do much for my turkey. I grilled my turkey so I am not sure if that may be why it didn't work out as well.

The rub was delicious and made a nice brown crust on the turkey skin. I think it helped to keep the turkey moist as well. It's best to melt a stick of butter and use a baster to baste the turkey rather than brushing because that would break the crust.

My Turkey came out delicious!!

Others may find this brand great, but it just didn't have a flavor that I really liked.
