Rayovac Sportsman LED Camping Lantern, Battery Powered Lantern, Water Resistant Hurricane Supplies and Emergency Light, Pack of 1

I had the same brand lantern 15 years ago. I'm sure it would of still been working but I forgot to take out batteries for a period of time. They corroded, my fault. So I was so happy to find the exact brand and lantern. We are in the start of winter and storm season. Nice to have lanterns, etc during power outage. Very affordable and puts out great light. Happy to have this product again.

We have only 4-5 power outages per year but when everything goes totally black at 9pm and you have to scar your legs stumbling into the edges of coffee tables while trying to remember where the flashlights are, it's not fun. So we got two different sets of devices. (1) a pair of bright power failure lights that plug in and just sit there until the power goes out, then they instantly and automatically come on bright enough to see our way around. Different styles are readily available from Amazon and other stores. (2) This Rayovac lamp with fluorescent tubes, powered by D batteries. It is plenty bright, some people say equal to 40 watt incandescent but seems more like 60-75 watts to us. Even set at half power, which doubles the battery life, it's bright enough to do anything except read a book comfortably. The 8 D batteries cost around $15 for a set of name brand, but they have a storage life of 7 years. We like this Rayovac so well we will order a second one so each of us can carry one from room to room. It comes with a sturdy and comfortable carrying handle, is a bit heavy with all those batteries but my wife and I are in our 80's and we can manage it. We figure it's a law of nature that if you are well prepared for a disaster, you will never get one; if that's true it was a cheap price to pay.

Great product for Power Outages, my previous one lasted 17 years. Th only Design Change was added nite lite feature and updated logo other wise exactly same in size, weight and dual Fluorescent Tubes. I choose not to replace the bulbs in my old prior one FOR $12.00 added cost, Just bought a complete new one. Lights up a 12 by 24 room very well... Just Grab a book and read to pass the time until power outage ends.

This lantern works great. Very bright perfect for camping or power outages. Since it is not rechargeable and uses 8 D batteries, I take the batteries out when not in use, and keep them in a bag next to the lantern this seems to extend the life of the batteries. I also keep a 2nd set of batteries. In case the power is out for several days or on an extended camping trip

Liked the difference levels of intensity of light. This is a replacement for one purchased close to ten years ago.,something in the top gave out. Stored without batteries

Decent product. Solid, not junk. I have two, one is very old. I would/will buy again if need be. Yes, it takes a lot of batteries, but batteries are what it takes for all night use. There is a great deal of junk out there. This is a well made product. I keep a spare fluorescent bulb. Sometimes they fail after long use.

I already had one of these Rayovac battery-operated lanterns and recently purchased a second one on Amazon. I have another battery operated lantern by a different company but the light it emits is not nearly as bright as the Rayovac. I find these lanterns invaluable for power outages (which we unfortunately have in our locale). The light is bright enough to read a book or newspaper by - or even to put your makeup on if the power is out and you have to get ready for work. The bulbs can be turned on separately if you don't want quite as much light. Highly recommended product for the home.

Linterna grande, pesada pues ocupa 8 pilas D, los modos de luz nunca van alumbrar lo suficiente, el inconveniente mas importante que veo es el repuesto de los focos fluorescentes. Aun asi, la linterna es demasiado bonita, estética, y si no buscas exceso de luz bien puede servirte. La recomiendo para necesidades de luz bajas. Y el precio se me hizo el correcto.

We bought 2 of these lanterns three years ago (still working) and just bought a third. They provide a lot of light when our power goes off (which happens often). There is enough light to read with. Very lightweight, reliable product.
