Decent Taste But Packaging and Quality Issues
I purchased the Unibic Foods Oat's Digestive Cookies, and while I appreciate the taste and health concept, there are several concerns that prevent me from rating this higher. The cookies taste reasonably good with a subtle sweetness and decent crunch initially, making them an acceptable snack option. The oatmeal flavor is noticeable, and they're less sickeningly sweet than many commercial biscuits, which I genuinely appreciated. However, the packaging is a significant disappointment. Multiple biscuits arrived broken or crushed despite being intact in the tray, which is extremely frustrating for the price point. The package lacks adequate protective materials like bubble wrap or cushioning, making the cookies vulnerable to damage during transit. Several users reported the same issue—receiving packages where most biscuits were broken into pieces. The health claims also warrant scrutiny. While marketed as containing high fiber for digestive health, the actual fiber content is only 6.1% per 100g, not the misleadingly advertised "26%" that appears in some marketing materials. Additionally, despite the "healthy" positioning, each 100g serving contains 23.4g of unhealthy fats and 18g of sugar, which somewhat contradicts the wellness narrative. The quality has been inconsistent—some batches arrive over-roasted with a burnt taste, making the product unreliable. For the price, I expected better protection and consistency. The cookies are decent for occasional snacking if you can get them in good condition, but the packaging issues and overstated health claims are frustrating. If Unibic improves their packaging with proper cushioning and tones down misleading marketing, this product could be worth recommending.
