Very nice cleaning rod.
This cleaning rod put all others that I have use to shame. Very stiff and can still flex if need be. High quality and like the way the handle is adjustable during the use. The rod does spin but the cleaning attachments can still unscrew from the end, but I did not find that to be an inconvenience.

Better than sliced bread
The only cleaning rod you will ever need-except maybe for shotguns, and, of course, 17 cal. This rod is easy to use, doesn't damage your barrel and standard tips fit easily. By pushing the lever on the handle it will not slide, but will rotate. You can easily move the slide for shorter (pistol) or longer barrels. Works well with 22 caliber, and is stiff enough that is does not bend easily. Purchase this and you can save all of the money you would use for multiple cleaning rods. Enjoy.

The Only Cleaning Rod You Need.
The cleaning rod is what i have been looking for. I have been using mine for over 6 months now and use it 3 to 4 times a week cleaning my rifles. There is no changing different link rods that I end up breaking. The tipon rod along with tipton brushes & jags there is no using of adapters that get lost or left on a brush and you can't find that also break easily. I have not broken anything because the brush and jags are the same sizes. It's a great cleaning rod I really like it. In the long run, it saves me time and money from not having to buy new rods that break. I have applied a lot of pressure and the rod can take. I bought the long cleaning rod and with the handle that locks any position does every rifle i have from short barrel AR'S & AK's and all the rifle in between to the longest rifle barrel i have is a 32" inch Swedish Mauser 6.5 x 55.

TIPTON HAS BUILT A BETTER MOUSETRAP.....
Every now and then that better mouse trap comes along and is better than the same type of things that came before it. The Max Force cleaning rods are that better mousetrap. I had their conventional one piece carbon fiber cleaning rod. I used it for a couple of years until I broke aa short while ago. I broke it doing something stupid. The rod was not at fault at all. So I went out to replace it using the buy it again feature here on Amazon when somehow I got sidetracked and looked at the Tipton Max Force cleaning rod. After reading the product description and all of the user reviews I decided to give this cleaning rod a try. BTW, the handle grips the rod once you depress the lever in the handle such that the rod is held firmly at the selected length in the bore yet the rod is free to spin following the rifling. I have no idea how Tipton did that but it works. The bottom line is that this rod does such a good job that I have now ordered the Max Force cleaning rod for my larger caliber firearms. Truly that better mousetrap in cleaning rods has now arrived. Everyone have a great day out there. Boy, am I ever so glad that I did. This thing is great furthermore its design will keep me from repeating my stupid episode. This cleaning rod makes cleaning my 93R17 much easier. It's also easier to make sure that I scrub all areas of the barrel equally during the early stages. Here's a tip. This cleaning rod comes with a very tightly fitting O-Ring to prevent the rod from slipping out of the handle until you unpack it. I took the O-Ring off, removed the handle then put the O-Ring back on between the handle and the rear of the cleaning rod. I use it for an indicator that shows me when I am close to having the business end of the rod come out of the muzzle.

Best cleaning rod made.
This is by far the best cleaning rod I have ever used! The technology behind this is amazing! I've used it to clean my AR15, .30-06, and .243. Super easy to clean them all! Use this and a bore guide (around $10-$15) and your set! You do not need the bore guide however. The only reason it's 4 starts instead of 5 is because the rod dosnt spin as freely as other rods (for the rifling). With time this may change. I would highly recommend this rod!

Lives up to the hype!
I had heard a lot about this cleaning rod and while I understood the concept of this particular design, you just learn to accept this type of hype with a grain of salt. Well, I for one am a convert. the idea of having the handle move to where you can best apply pressure to protect your gun and rod is a great idea, however, the rod still needs the ability to rotate while you move it ... and that proves to be a bit of a challenge to design. Tipton has done it ... the floating ball bearing system allows the rod to freely rotate while you push and pull the rod with the handle locked. It is both easy and intuitive to move the rod in a safe and controlled manner, even when there is substantial resistance from a patch or cleaning brush. Quite an accomplishment, worth every penny of the additional cost over traditional designs. This rod makes taking care of your firearms just that much easier and safer.

Excellent.
This item appears exactly as I expected, and I am confident it will perform as I hoped. The instructions and info on the packaging could be written better. I was a little confused at first as to whether I had ordered the correct thread adapter, until I realized one end accommodated shotgun cleaning and the other was the correct, smaller threading for rifles and handguns (underneath the plastic cap). The packaging was fine, although the product packaging came a little damaged. Luckily it wasn't damaged in a manner I had any kind of compelling grievance with.

Terrific product, exactly what I needed for a long rifle.
Great product. Very sturdy and did a great job with a long barreled rifle. The sliding handle was very useful to get the rod through with little effort. You can grip the rod close to the barrel and then slide it back so you can support the rod without putting excessive stress and pressure on an unsupported rod. Worked much better than I expected.

I have a target rifle that is 44" long (muzzle break to action). Before I bought this product I had to string together pieces from 2 conventional cleaning rods in order to be able to clear the end of the barrel. Problem is, if you don't take them apart and feed them in one at a time (like a drill rig) they get so long and flexible that they kink and break. The sliding handle along with the coated solid steel rod (not hollow aluminum or brass) allows for quick work on difficult guns.

This product works so well it's worth its weight in gold. My new 6.5cm bent my old three piece cleaning rod and so I started shopping around for a new one. Came across this and decided to give it a chance. It works perfectly and is a must have in my opinion.
