I tried all of these different extenders so you don’t have to. Short answer: this is the one you probably want. Details below. There are four diff types of these. The rubber button and loop (these), elastic, fabric, and denim. They all work. They all can (and should) be hidden under a belt or shirt. They are all visible without a belt. None of them work if you have a different type of button clasp on your pants (Bonobos) Where they differ is how much they stretch and how well they blend in with your pants. This kind has different types in the package, some for a little wide, some for a lot wide. You get to pick an exact size. It is firm so it holds your pants up, but has some give when you sit. Largely invisible on jeans, and if you use the small, one it’s mostly hard to see on other pants too. The elastic one is much stretchier. More comfortable when you sit. But it also doesn’t hold your pants up as well because of that. And everyone is different but I only found it useful to use the first hole (the others seemed uselessly wide), leaving a flag of fabric hanging off the end. It also doesn’t match your pants well. The fabric and denim ones are the same. They match your pants much better. They are firm so they hold your pants up well. But they don’t have any give when you sit. If you’re using pants extenders, you probably have a belly that would appreciate some give. The first loop is useful, the second one seems unhelpfully wide for me.

I love these! They are simple to use, and work with a number of different pants. I was worried about there only being 1 and 2 holes options, but they work really well. They fit over most pants buttons. I've used both the one hole and 2 hole pant expanders. (I think if it's more than 2, the pants opening starts showing your underwear, if not wearing a long shirt.) These are great for tight pants (or shorts), to make them more comfortable, and for pants that almost, but don't quite fit. The ones that you can't quite button, that have an inch gap. Note: I have not tried the shirt ones. I haven't needed them. Also, for reference, I've tried these with female pants. Buttons fit over jean buttons just fine, and female dress pants buttons. I even had one that was a bit larger than normal, and the rubber stretched over it just fine. I can't vouch for men's pants, other than jeans.

This is a great idea - so much better than my rubber band or large safety pin fixes! Beautiful design. 1" and 2" ones with different sizes of gold or silver colored metallic buttons. I'd like one more longer 3" long to be in the packet). Strong and durable.

They work as advertised! No problem.

The first time I tried to take one off of my button to use on another pair of jeans it ripped. They don’t have as much give as I thought they might but overall they work pretty well. I am afraid to remove them now, so I’m just leaving them on pants.

I bought these to use on a couple pairs of jeans and shorts that still button, but are fairly tight on me. Using these allows a tiny bit more breathing room, which makes the clothing more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Especially when sitting down (high-rise struggles). I always make sure to wear a top that’s long enough to cover the buttons, otherwise it would be visible and awkward. Overall, I’m very happy that I purchased these.

What a clever variety of 'extenders' for shirts, pants and shorts! I have a couple of pairs of pants that run a little tighter in the waist than the majority of my pants and that little bit makes a lot difference in the comfort department. It's nice to be able to wear ALL of my pants with these handy size extenders. Brilliant!

This item is soooooo handy…. It will not replace a button that you have popped off…..but it will allow you to wear pants that were too small to button, due to over eating or drying too hot in the dryer….or various acts of nature…buy without hesitation…
