Great price....READ BELOW FOR EASY APPLICATION WITH SKIMMER SOCKS
This product is a finer grit than a different brand I've used....it still does not quickly dissolve. That is the nature of the chemical composition, not this (or any other) brand's fault. HERE'S HOW WE ADD CYA... --I attempt to dissolve 1/2 lb. of CYA at a time in VERY hot water (from an electric kettle) in a bucket. This is done outdoors and all safety precautions listed on the pkg. are followed. --Even though I stir it well for 3-5 minutes almost all of the product is still undissolved in the bucket. --I then pour the remaining CYA/water into our skimmer basket -- fitted with the skimmer sock -- run the pump and within 45 minutes the CYA is dissolved into the pool water. --I repeat that process if I need to add more CYA. Another reviewer has fashioned a similar setup by tying a sock filled with CYA to the pool ladder and letting it dissolve over the course of a few days. Our method utilizes an already amazing product (skimmer sock) to keep our water pristine AND to distribute CYA in a safe manner. SKIMMER SOCK ENDORESEMENT.... If you are not already using skimmer socks for your pool's filter...you MUST get these to ensure absolutely sparkling pool water! We use a fine mesh (almost like orthopedic sock material) skimmer sock on our sand filter's skimmer basket. These trap an UNBELIEVABLE amount of debris before it hits the sand filter, and we swap it out each and every day. We rinse and clean it off, dry it and reuse next time. These pay for themselves in no time! They delay the need for backwashing (losing warm and chemically treated water) and saves you $$ for chemicals. Research this (on Amazon) and get some...quick!

Very Effective Product!
I have been using this product for years and it is definitely worth your attention. I have a 18,000 gallon pool located in South Florida and this product helps retain chlorine in my pool. It comes with a resealable bag perfect for storing the unused portions of the product. It works well and it’s one of the best products on the market. Happy with the purchase. Buy one and be happy. N

Use the sock method.
I use this product weekly in my pool. It performs well and is reasonably priced. I have found that it dissolves best when placed in a sock in the skimmer basket. The water slurry bucket method is not effective.

Same chemistry as the 4lb bottles you get at the pool store or Walmart but 1/2 the price
Best price/pound for CYA that I have found. Shipping was very fast, exactly as pictured. It is just a zip-tied bag inside the box. Don't need more frills, just get my chemicals to me and these guys deliver. Add the CYA to a sock or pantyhose inside your skimmer basket so you don't blast a bunch of small pebbles into your pool pump impeller. Takes a few days to dissolve. I follow the protocol set by Troublefreepool.com to set and maintain my pool chemicals. CYA is a critical component to not only keeping your chlorine levels stable but also to not destroy your wallet when the sun eats up all your un-stabilized chlorine. You can figure to use about 1 lb of CYA granules to raise 10,000 gallons of water by 10ppm. It is always better to undershoot a bit, wait a few days for full saturation and then test your CYA levels at any pool store or using a home kit (I use the Taylor K-2006 test kit). Once you hit your target you don't need to test it again until the start of the next season. You can always add more CYA but you cannot lower it unless you drain some or all your pool and refill with fresh water or have some kind of psycho reverse osmosis filter on your pool. Also be very careful if you use dichlor shock or stabilized tablets since those contain a small amount of CYA. Remember it doesn't really go away, just continues to concentrate. This is not a problem if you use liquid chlorinator (bleach). My father used so much pool shock (dichlor) to attack a algae problem that he essentially stabilized 100% of the chlorine he was adding to the pool so none was able to actually oxidize the crap building up in his system. I asked him about his CYA levels and he didn't even know what that was, only that shock wasn't helping. Take a test bottle to your local pool store and they should be able to test for this for free.
