Amazon kept hounding me to buy this book. The Amazon robot was right this time and it ended up being a great book to read. Allot of the references are a bit data but the underlying life cycle of companies held up great. Would recommend as a general business book. That might not sounds like much but I only have a handful of business books I can recommend.

I heard about this book from a billionaire being interviewed. He said it was under marketed and had good insight. I ordered it and found it easy to read and apply. I think that the author does decent job of explaining what he "sees" in the life of corporations. I am also seeing application for the life of churches, which are also corporations. I liked the book enough to buy several copies for different friends to read and think about.

Super interesting information, would recommend for any new business owners, or those who are getting higher up in their management career.

The book's contents are quite interesting, stratifying position and business evolution. The only negative I would point out is that all the references to people and businesses are quite out of date -- all in years or decades before the original publication date.

Ask the seller if a Hard copy is available before ordering lol. The book itself is great and a must-read for anyone interested in getting into the corporate world or understanding it.

Barbarians to Bureaucrats provides an insightful view of managerial styles but what's more significant is its emphasis on Synergist and the importance of his leadership to the success of his company. The author states "All cultures that succeed do so because of synergy, both within the culture and in interaction with competing cultures. Healthy companies are flexible. That allows them to change. Rigidity prevents change and inevitably leads to decline." Synergistic organizations require unique differences in its leadership team and these differences provide flexibility, creativity, motivation, unity and diversity, as well as other attributes, which follow the Laws of Synergy. I recommend this book as a great guide to the understanding the requirements to a successful enterprise

Great read! cooperate life cycle

I would recommend this book for any business owner or company president/CEO.My uncle, who is the president of a $50m construction company recommended this book to me. He reads it every year as a reminder of what has made him successful and what actions/attitude could lead him down the wrong path.I read it and have recommended it to several friends since. I usually keep a few of them in my stockpile to give away.

Classic easy read for all levels of management. If you are in a medium - large corporation or organization, you need to read this book.
