Q: How much water is used during regeneration

The amount of water used during regenreration will depend on how much water has been filtered since the previous generation. The more that has been filtered, the more water the regeneration will use. The maximum used in regeneration is 45 litres.

Q: Can the overflow and waste pipes go into sink waste as our kitchen is not on outside wall?

Yes - the overflow can go into the sink waste.

Q: Do you have to isolatethe drinking water from your water softener

You don't have to, but it's advised if you need to watch your sodium intake. I personally would try to avoid drinking softened water, even though I've never been told to watch my salt levels.

Fairly easy to install. Arrived broken but ok

Fairly easy to install after adding reducers and smaller/longer hoses. The unit arrived with a broken plastic insert to hold the internal chamber in place firmly, though this was ok and not worth all of the returns process, with careful handling on the install. Now filled with salt the tank can't really move anyway.Fits well under the sink bowl without needing to cut out the base of the unit, a big plus, could have done with it being 20mm narrower to avoid he sink waste but a great fit.We get plenty of softened water from this Ultra 9 unit for 3 adults, Looking like it will get through 25kg or under per month so economical, this may settle down to less. Super quiet unit.
