Even though it took me some time to get the information on my protection plan, it was handled quickly and professionally.

Well, the good news is they replace the product if defective. The bad news is they only do it once. A 5-year warranty is NOT a 5-year warranty....so buyer beware. Worse they don't tell you your warranty is void if item replaced. Now I would have just gotten a new warranty if they would have said we're done now. The GE Opal Icemaker never really lasts more than three years so I absolutely would have bought a new warranty. Assurant said just read the details in the 11 page finely printed protection plan. Here's the short...their 5-year warranty is NOT a 5-year warranty...AND they blew the sale of another warranty by not telling you that. Bad sales...bad warranty. Move on to another plan.
