Smooth and reliable F nib better than expected
I have used several LAMY fountain pens including Safari and Studio always with EF nibs. When I switched to this Pilot Decimo with an F nib I was surprised how smooth and consistent the ink flow is. The line thickness feels almost identical to a LAMY EF but with none of the skipping or dryness I experienced with the Pilot EF nib version. The pearl white finish looks very elegant and feels more premium than I expected. This is my first time using a capless fountain pen and the convenience is far better than I imagined. I usually prefer ink cartridges for ease of use and the Iroshizuku cartridges work perfectly with this pen. It is not a cheap pen but the quality justifies the price and I feel it is worth every penny. This combination of design, performance, and convenience makes it my favorite daily writer.

Perfect!
Held off on getting the Pilot Vanishing Point for some time as I was not sure I would like the size. This smaller version is just right for me. I like fine nibs, especially for quick notes, as I generally use cheap paper. This writes at true crisp fine line. Smooth and consistent right out of the box. Anything finer would have been too fine for me unless it were to be used for sketching. The clip placement at the nib end of the barrel is a little hard to get used to. I have never used that style before but I think I will adjust to it, just takes some getting use to. This is done so that the nib will be upright when stored or in a pocket. This may keep me from using it when writing pages and pages but for most uses the convenience of the vanishing point will outweigh the small adjusting. My understanding is that the clip itself is smaller on the Decimo compared to the regular VP, which for me is a plus but some people may not be bothered by the clip placement at all. The white pearl is beautiful. IMO it has kind of a techy look that suits the pen's style well. My experience purchasing this through Amazon was good as well as the price!

Well-made retractable fountain pen
Bought this one for my son because I've had one for years. Pilots are the best (though Pelikans are also well made), I have a half-dozen I've accumulated over the years. The Decimo has a smooth click-to-write action. Also check out the Fermo, which has a twist knob on the back to extend the nib (discontinued but some still some available). I like to write very small, so the EF nib is excellent (I have some super stiff "posting' nibs that were developed for writing in financial ledges back in the day and like them, too), very thin line, smooth, lays down a nice solid line but not so much ink that it runs or blots. Use with high-quality paper though ... this isn't for jotting on napkins. Takes ink well and doesn't clog. I use Noodler's inks but other quality brands should work fine. If it ever does clog, just take out the nib and soak in cold water overnight, then run water through until it's clear.

Excellent extra-fine pen
I love the Decimo line, and this is my first extra-fine pen. I generally use a fine nib and have small writing, but wanted to get an EF because, why not? I'm familiar with Pilot's EF nib from a vintage E95 I own, so it didn't come as a complete shock. But even then, this line this pen leaves is truly thin. You should not fill this with a light ink, it really needs something bold and wet to leave a mark. This pen is certainly scratchy. If you're tearing up regular paper with the nib, you might be pressing way too hard.

Works excellent, survives frequent abuse
Works excellent with good ink and never dries up. Very comfortable and excellent for daily use on the go for people who enjoy fountain pens but a “clicker pen” is more practical Excellent durability ive abused it very much.

Horrible
Horrible. They sent it without even checking it. The nib is broken and the cap doesn't work.

Small handwriting
I write my words pretty small and the EF-nib is perfect for me. If you write Japanese Kanji, or Chinese characters, these are pretty thin enough for putting in good amount of details. Just note, these don't slide very well and require zero pressure at the tip, so if you aren't used to these, it'll take some time to get used to. I'm still not fully used to it not sliding smoothly but it helps me control my handwriting pretty good. In my opinion though, if you're looking to write a bunch of signatures for documents, this isn't the pen for you cause it really doesn't slide. Maybe it's just my experience or how I just use the pen but, I definitely don't want to sign documents using this. But all my notetakings are used by this and it's definitely a lot of fun. It is a little pricey but I think it's worth for the premium feel with it being pretty heavy. The pen is so smooth and easy to hold, it may be a little thick for gripping for people with smaller hands. For me it's a perfect thickness. ALSO, the clip location is pretty bizarre I won't lie but once you get used to it, it helps out with holding your pen with the correct side up (You want the clip to be looking upwards when you write). It also kind of forced me to properly hold my pen like you learn in school. Overall, this is definitely my favorite pen to use recently. Also for the convertible, I bought it but didn't buy any ink so I haven't used it but it's honestly pretty self-explanatory once you receive the pen and convertible.

Just a beautiful pen with an 18K fine nib that writes very smoothly. Thought this was to include a converter but no. But it did have a black cartridge.

The pen writes smoothly and came with 18k nib, the clicking mechanism is very good, much better in real than the online videos, no hard starting issues. Package contained an empty catridge with a metal cap inside the pen and a black catridge.

Ottimo acquisto e fantastica scrittura. Per il mio stile di scrittura forse era meglio la punta M. Inchiostro a cartuccia fluido e preciso. Il nero secondo me è il migliore.

The pen is pretty decent. It is unlike most other pens I have used in the past and has a nice softness to it which feels real good. There is not much line variation though. The fine nib is smooth, wet and writes more like a metro medium. The metal body doesn’t feels too good and is a dirt magnet. I would have really preferred a matte finish instead. I was very very dissapointed that the pen didn’t come with a convertor. The sellers on ebay are selling this for less than 8K and that is with shipping and customs included so after paying 11K for a pen and not getting a convertor, it feels bad. The seperator convertor being sold by UJ is worth 1K so that is pretty expensive. I contacted UJ immediately after my purchase and asked if they could ship a grey VP instead of dark blue to which they agreed. However, after expecting a black VP for 2 weeks, I got the blue one.

Very smooth writing. Ink does not dry even if pen is unused for days. Comfortable to hold. Superior product.
