I purchased this towel for my home. I live in an area with extremely hot, humid summer weather and my traditional, terry cloth bath towels were not drying even though my bathroom is well ventilated and my home is air conditioned. So I decided to try quick-dry, microfiber towels. I chose this Shandali towel (20" x 40") for my husband, and because I wanted a white towel (just a silly preference in color), I chose a different brand microfiber towel that happened to come in white for myself. My husband's Shandali was the superior towel.The fabric is velvety soft on sensitive skin, absorbs water with superb efficiency, and then quick dries 'ready to use again' extremely fast. The stitching along the perimeter is beautifully finished, and the hanging loop sewn along the edge is a wonderful feature not to be discounted. I hang our towels across a standard 21" towel bar in my bathroom, but I tested that loop to see if the towel would still dry quickly. What I discovered is that the postion of the loop, sewn at the mid-way point of the long edge rather than on a corner, allows the towel to drape hanging as 'open' as possible. This ensured maximum moisture evaporation and required only 12" clearance space underneath the towel. No risk of it hitting the floor!I returned the other brand's white microfiber towel and went back to Shandali, ordering three more for my husband and myself. I highly recomend the Shandali microfiber towel for your bathroom; but can also see it being perfect for dorm living, camping, gym/yoga classes, etc. It is virtually weightless. It folds down exceptionally small and has zero bulk. I even think it would be perfect for babies because of its softness and size.

This towel is absolutely fantastic for working out! It is extremely lightweight and compact. It is extremely soft (not plush - it is very thin - like a leather chamois - but it is very soft and gentle on your skin). It does not smell. Ever. (I accidentally forgot it bunched up soaking wet in the bottom of the washing machine for almost 48 hours and it did not smell in the least when I realized it and finally took it out of the washer.) And most importantly, the material absorbs and evaporates liquid faster than any other material I have ever encountered in my entire life. Sweat just disappears the moment it touches the towel. And it never seems to be saturated. I sweat a lot when I exercise, and every other towel I have used seems to saturate very quickly with sweat. My biggest pet peeve with other towels is that they quickly get so saturated with sweat that I cannot dry off my hands enough to change the song on my iPod or skip the commercials on the exercise video I am playing on Youtube on my phone. No matter how much I sweat, though, or how long my workout is, this towel never stops quickly and thoroughly absorbing more sweat. Because it facilitates evaporation so well, this towel also feels cool against your skin. I like to place it on my neck and shoulders after a workout because it helps me feel cooler faster. I have not yet taken this towel camping or backpacking, but I cannot imagine that it would not work fantastic for those purposes. If you are considering purchasing this towel to use when exercising, I absolutely recommend it. As long as you are not set on having a plush, fluffy gym towel, you will not be disappointed!

I learned about these before a trip, while researching what’s good to bring. They can be folded into a very small lightweight towel, and when needed served their purpose. We hiked and then swam in a river. It was nice to have been abled to dry without having carried heavy towels in the backpack. Nowadays I’ve been using in my car to cover my seat from the hot sun.

I had the opportunity to review this travel and sport towel in return for a review but the opinion is all my own.I am a big time world traveler. I like to just get away for 3+ weeks at a time. I like to mix up budget and higher end travel, but no matter what I always pack light! I have been on the lookout for a good travel towel. I had just never been able to justify the high price associated with them. I ordered the medium size travel towel as I want anything I use for travel to have many uses(beach cover, towel, blanket) Well I have been using this towel for a couple weeks and I am impressed! Like others have said I was surprised at how lightweight and thin the material is. I am not disappointed, just surprised. After the first time I was hooked with this travel towel. I like that you can just wrap it around each body part and just let it blot and soak up the water. It is excellent after drying myself I use it to wrap up my hair to help it dry quickly as well. I have washed it several times and the stitching has held up well. I am looking forward to taking this backpacking in Thailand soon as every ounce and square inch is precious when backpacking. I have not noticed any smells from the towel after several uses; probably because it drys so darn fast. Between the great quality, the size, and the price I definitely recommend this Shandali Travel Towel and Sports Towel.

We camp often and even though we have a motor home packing is tight. When we go to the beach we bring everything except the kitchen sink. I suffer from many spinal injuries and have difficulty using a regular towel on my head. I have several dozen twist i.e. Turns but they take 2 days to dry. These are compact, light weight but holds a lot of water and dries in 10 minutes avoiding the smell of moldy wet towels. I live in a community where our kids are on the swim team and they love these. I have multiple sizes. Since they are in and out of the water all the time they dry very fast and are ready when they need them again. I do wash wash them in the washer with very little soap and dry them in the dryer on cool. I've contacted other manufacturers if they would please design them as a twister turn but have not heard back. These are great not just for camping as you can read. My next purchase I plan to have a friend use her embroidery machine to make the schools logo on them and another who does silk screening to see which is better. But every camp ground and school swim team should pick up the different sizes as a part of the nessecities.

Purchased 2 of these towels in a size small (20" x 40") for backpacking across Europe. I'm 5'5" and the size small towel was perfect as a body towel after a shower. It was too short to walk around in, but that was a sacrifice I was willing to make to save space in my bag. The second towel was for my hair (long, approx. about the length of my bra band). I used the towels every morning, and they were always dry by the time I went to use them the next AM. One of the hooks ripped within the first day of hanging the towel, but it even dried quickly as it laid in a heap on the floor of a humid hostel for an entire day. Even still, 5 stars, because the need to dry quickly was more important than a flimsy hook anyway! Enjoy!

Folds or rolls down extremely small for such a large towel. Works well and does dry fast. A good deal.
