From Nothing: Everything You Need to Profit from Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, Blogging, Online Business, e-Commerce and More… Starting With <$100

A lot of reviews about this book talk about what a great, no-BS resource it is. And those reviews are 100% accurate. But what really elevates this book is that it works on two levels. * New to internet marketing? Just dipping your toe into content-driven income? Yeah, this book will save you time and tears. * But here's the kicker: You should read this book -- read it and *take notes* -- even if you've been doing this stuff a long, long time. Like me. I've put food on the table through writing and marketing for more than 30 years. But I had a new effort coming up that could go big with the right strategy or go south with the wrong decisions. I thought a fresh pair of eyes made sense. And although my instinct was to pay a few grand to a consultant, I figured a few nights with a $9.99 book couldn't hurt. Maybe the consultant and I could have a laugh over it. Well, you can guess the rest of the story, right? No need for the consultant. Greater clarity and better strategy for the new project. Additional confidence -- something that's pretty rare when you've been doing this a while -- because now I had new insights I wouldn't have considered. Not bad for less than the cost of a good lunch. I wish I had a quibble or a complaint so this didn't sound like such a raving-fanboy review. The one thing I would say is that I almost walked away from the book because the middle section is largely concerned with technical issues (setting up Wordpress, etc.) that I already knew. I thought about putting it down but skimmed instead -- and I'm glad I did, since the last third of the book had some of the most valuable insights. If you've read this far, you've already wasted more of your time than the cost of the book. So push the button and buy it -- it's the best explainer on this subject I've seen on Amazon.

I'll keep this short and concise since that's what I look for when reading Amazon review. Ian's "From Nothing" (combined with FIMP, his free online marketing course) is honestly the perfect toolset for getting started with online, content marketing focused, entrepreneurship. I struggled for a long time to find a book/course that "got it" when it came to teaching non-technical people ESSENTIAL (not BS) Wordpress, SEO, conversion optimization, etc. If you put in the effort to digest what Ian teaches you'll–at the bare minimum–improve your digital marketing-related skillset. Ideally, however, you find a great, profitable niche, combine it with this training and get your own bizz up and running, making you a decent living. Again, this book is meant to be a solid supplement to his FIMP course. Do not think that you will read this book in one sitting and be ready to take on the world. It does not work like that... (but really, does anything?) Overall, "From Nothing" is well written, to the point, and absolutely worth your $10. No question about it. Best of luck!

I wanted to take a moment and share my thoughts on this golden-nugget of an e-book. I'm not new to affiliate marketing or online e-commerce, however, like everything in life, the landscape changes. The rules change. The competition becomes more fierce. And those who don't evolve, get lost in the fray. I took a decade hiatus from online affiliate marketing and decided to re-enter the field about 7 months ago. EVERYTHING I thought I knew was WRONG. My site was failing and my hope was dwindling. I went in search of the holy grail of online marketing education. Fortunately, I found it in the online training upon which this book is based. I threw out what I thought I knew and followed the principles in this book. I'm happy to report that my traffic has increased. The content that was created using the simple-to-follow instructions are bearing fruit. I truly feel like I hit pay-dirt! When Ian Pribyl released this book, it was a no-brainer for me. I've already dived in and have found the contents to be as thorough and easy-to-follow as his online course. Do your online business and yourself a favor. Buy the book! Invest in yourself! It'll be the best money you've EVER invested in your success.

I like this book. It dives in at about the third chapter on how to start setting up and monetizing a blog. I was put off by the first couple chapters trying to sell me expensive courses that he claims will help me. Well, most of us can't afford those things. But the books redeems itself towards the middle. There is detailed advice and it doesn't come off as arrogant.

I've been a reader of Ian's for over a year, enjoying his content on his website and on his Facebook group. He has an approachable writing style that is rare in the "internet marketing" space. When I saw that he was releasing his content in a one-stop package, I knew I had to pick it up. I was not disappointed. Whereas so many of the teachers in this space constantly talk about their own achievements, Ian only references his successes as a proof of concept, showing what is possible. Ian pulls no punches in this book, it stands as a concise and approachable guide to starting an online business in the realm of your choice. He walks through the realities of this challenge, pulling no punches when explaining what it takes to succeed. I consider this content to be the most important X-factor in what has shaped my growing online business, which is now at a stage where I am bringing in profit every month in a niche that I am interested in. I haven't quit my job, I don't make $1,000,000 per month (like so many "gurus" will promise), but I do have a real, sustainable side business that I understand every part of. This book is a no-brainer.

Très pédagogique, simple à comprendre et à appliquer. Depuis le temps que je suis dans le digital, j'ai jamais trouvé quelque chose d'aussi épuré. Pas de chichis, il ne vend rien de plus que ces connaissances. Laiteux présente sa méthode, avec mon expérience et le lifestyle que je souhaite, c'est exactement ce que je veux : un business axé sur le trafic organique et la haute qualité.

I bought this book as an addition to the First Internet Marketing Profits that Ian has made freely available a few years ago (this has changed to a paid model since, due to factors outside of his control). It works great as I get to reference all the small details as I go, without watching the videos again. Even without the video course this book provides a step by step tutorial on starting your own blog/website online and making it a profitable business. Yes, you can learn all of his for free as well but you are taking a massive shortcut by buying this book and sticking to the path that Ian has laid out for you. It will allow you to make informed decisions when choosing which tools you need and it will save you from making mistakes that can cost you time and money.

Como todos los negocios, los negocios online requieren "una cierta inversión" (si bien es cierto que estos menos que los offline, es decir: "los de toda la vida", p. ej. una zapateria). Pero ¿de CUANTO estamos hablando, para un negocio online? La respuesta (como casi todo en esta vida) es un DEPENDE. ¿Y de QUE depende? Aparte del dinero que tengas para invertir, sobre todo DEPENDE DEL CAMINO/VIA/ESTRATEGIA que elijas para crearlo. En este caso, la via que enseña el autor es la via de "con LA MINIMA INVERSION ECONOMICA posible" (estamos hablando de entre 100-200 dolares/año, en total) lo cual lo hace MUY RECOMENDABLE PARA TODAS AQUELLAS PERSONAS QUE NO PUEDAN AFRONTAR UNA GRAN INVERSION DINERARIA. Por supuesto "nada es gratis", y "LO QUE NO INVIERTES EN DINERO LO VAS A TENER QUE INVERTIR DE TU TIEMPO Y PACIENCIA". ¿Y CUANTO TIEMPO? De nuevo "depende" (para empezar de CUANTO TIEMPO le puedas dedicar, a más tiempo le dediques "tanto menos paciencia" vas a necesitar). El autor indica que EL MINIMO SON 10 horas/semana, con eso ya "el método es viable" y "probablemente" empieces a tener resultados (=ventas/ingresos economicos) sobre el año. Asi que SI BUSCAS UNA FORMA DE "HACERTE RICO DE LA NOCHE A LA MAÑANA", mi consejo es que compres un billete de loteria (a ver si hay suerte y toca ;)), porque AQUI ESO NO LO VAS A ENCONTRAR :). Ahora, si estas dispuesto a trabajar duro, es posible que esto te cambie la vida... Por supuesto "nadie garantiza NADA" (es decir, que esto te vaya a funcionar a TI en particular, y en eso el autor es MUY SINCERO y HONESTO, lo cual es de agradecer). Eso es otro "depende", para empezar "de QUE sea tu negocio" (exactamente igual que en la vida real: si intentas vender estufas a los isleños del Caribe, ya se ve que probablemente tu negocio NO vaya muy lejos :D), y luego tambien estan "esos imponderables" (el factor suerte) que tanto ponderaba Napoleon (al elegir a sus generales, aparte de que fueran buenos estrategas, conocieran las tacticas, etc, etc al final siempre preguntaba: Si, pero ¿TIENEN SUERTE?). Ahora, en mi opinion el autor LO QUE SI TE DA, es un metodo al que LE VES TODA LA LOGICA, el sentido comun, y que "apunta en la buena direccion" en todas y cada una de sus fases, empezando por el principio: Tiene todo un capitulo dedicado a ¿y que NICHO elijo? (="¿cual puede ser a lo que me dedique con mi negocio?"), de modo tal que "se reduzcan las posibilidades de darte el batacazo" por elegir un NEGOCIO INVIABLE desde el principio :(. Pero claro, aun asi NO hay CERTEZA ninguna de que esto TE VAYA A FUNCIONAR A TI, y en concreto, si eliges mal el nicho, tienes TODAS las papeletas de cosechar un fracaso con independencia de todo lo demas que hagas (o no hagas) después... pero vamos, eso IGUAL QUE EN LA VIDA REAL.... En eso el autor es TREMEDAMENTE HONESTO, y te lo advierte "tal y como es", no te "intenta vender motos" que ni existen, ni pueden existir.... ¿Cual es la diferencia entre esto y un "negocio real", o entre esto y "otras formas de montar tu negocio por Internet? LAS CONSECUENCIAS SI FRACASAS. Si esto "te sale mal" habrás perdido una "inversión" de entre 100/200 dolares en un año (a lo que hay que sumar lo que pagues por este libro jeje) y BASTANTE TIEMPO "PERDIDO" (lo de "perdido" es muy entre comillas, porque HABRAS APRENDIDO UN MONTON DE NUEVAS HABILIDADES, que quizás te sirvan para otras cosas, o quizas "a la segunda consigas lo que NO lograste a la primera". Pero, si lo logras, tu vida habra cambiado mucho. En ese sentido, hay que valorar tambien el que, como el autor SABE que "esto puede acabar mal" (a pesar de que el metodo explicado, en mi opinion es PERFECTAMENTE VALIDO, lleno de "logica y sentido comun" en todos y cada uno de sus pasos), cosa de la que repito "te avisa con total honestidad" por lo menos "ha hecho las cosas con logica y sentido comun" TAMBIEN EN ESO, en el que "Y si sale mal, al menos esto NO te va a hacer mucho daño" (ni economico, ya que la inversion ha sido MINIMIZADA al maximo) Para terminar, simplemente indicar que el metodo está explicado "de principio, a fin", empezando por ese ¿Y como elijo mi nicho?, lo que es CRUCIAL para minimizar al maximo las posibilidades de fracaso), COMO montar mi propia Web (aunque NO tenga NI idea de tecnologias Web, ni tampoco dinero para contratar a nadie que sepa y lo haga por mi), COMO atraer trafico SIN gastar dinero en publicidad pagada (=hacer que la gente venga y la visite) y por ultimo, COMO monetizarlo (lograr ventas, y obtener beneficio). Es decir, que "hay un largo camino por delante, lleno de aprendizaje" y, en el peor de los casos "eso te llevaras de este viaje" ;)

Very decent book with a lot of useful information about the topic, but almost every screenshot in it the print hard cover version is so small, that you need a magnifying glass for it!
