Let me tell you a story. I bought this mug for my Mother over a year ago for Mother's day because she mentioned she wanted a big coffee mug. Initially, she saw it and said, "Oh, that's so sweet." However, it wasn't as big as we had hoped it would be, so we were planning to get something bigger. The next morning, she calls me in ecstasy. She tells me something to the effect of, "BETHANY. THIS MUG IS PERFECT." She describes in detail the comfort of it's size, it's ability to hold large amounts of coffee whilst looking dainty and sweet, and how it has made her morning-coffee-dreams come true. I am happy. She is happy. The mug is a success. The weeks pass on. She grows more and more attached to it. It is the vessel for her coffee day after day, through Fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring, Summer.... Today, over a year later, she comes to me. It is one with her. She cannot have her coffee with out it. It so flawless, so exemplary, so necessary to her morning routine. But today, the horror of horrors - an unknowing innocent uses it. Her beloved coffee mug with the inspirational butterflies. It has been taken from her. She cries to me, she bewails the lack of joy in her boring, pathetic, ridiculous, standard kitchen coffee mug that she was forced to use in place of it. Her heart is broken. I get on Amazon: 1) to rewrite my review of this mug and 2) to see if I can find another mug by Christian Art Gifts - because if one perfect mug can make my mother, a mother of seven children no less, this happy, imagine what TWO perfect mugs can do. Take this review as either a warning or a blessing - this mug has magical powers. It will an exhausted mother of seven happy. It will take your most joyous of coffee highs and cause them to soar to unimaginable heights.

I've had one of these mugs for a while. It wears well in the dishwasher. No fading or etching of the design. But what I really like is the balance the mug has. Some mugs are so dainty they're hard to hold and don't keep coffee warm because they're too thin. Some are so clunky they're...well...hard to hold for other reasons! This one is at the right balance in the handle, the right thickness to keep coffee warm without feeling overly heavy or manly, and the right size for a nice latte without extra space in the cup. I like it so well I came back and bought one for a friend. I need to get another for my mom because when she came to visit she wanted to take it home!
