Perfect Upgrade for My Teenage Drummer
I bought the Tama Iron Cobra 200 double bass pedal for my teenage son, who has been drumming nonstop since he joined his high school band. The excitement on his face when he set it up said it all. Within minutes, he was testing out fast double kicks, grinning ear to ear as he realized how smooth and responsive the pedals felt compared to his starter set. The build quality is solid, and the action is both quick and controlled — perfect for a drummer who’s learning speed and precision. He’s been practicing more than ever, and I can already hear the difference in his playing. This pedal didn’t just upgrade his kit — it fueled his passion. For the price, it’s an incredible value for young drummers who want to take their skills to the next level.

Made Faster with new springs!
Great Tama Quality.>>Suggestion: Remove and replace the Tama, high quality springs, with DW standard quality or DW "clone springs", that are slightly softer, with a slight "Conical Top" profile. (Amazon has em') You'll probably want to adjust to a slightly higher tension, 1/4+-"ish, above "flush bottom", to offset the, quicker, softer springs. I believe the response is quicker and I smiled. For a few bucks, I think you notice too. Just for "kicks"...The great, Mitch Mitchel's tricky, and punchy, six note, "skip beat" (accented 2nd,5th beat) intro on "Little Miss Lover" Hendrix "Bold As Love" becomes easily do-able. Fun and a tad tricky to play right and clean! Hope this helps.

Great option!!
Got these for my son who plays the drums. He loves them!! He said they were easy to set up, and sturdy. It was hard to find them anywhere else. I also got the warranty for them. Just in case. I’m not a drummer so who knows.

Bass heavy
I’ve used this pedal for a few years now and it works great pretty quick return. It has a little squeak but you can barely notice it when you’re playing

God level performance
These ate by far the best pedals i have ever used. The loose defauly tention makes blast beats and 16th notes easy to play. It also makes it easier to perform double bass techniques with one pedal. They have really great striking power and great recoil. I would 100% by this again.

Tama Quality
The assembly came as described. The mounting to my Alesis drum kit was solid but not centered on the Alesis kick drum sensor.

Whilst practically all double kicks allow you to adjust the tension and resistance, the resistance on this particular model feels very authentic ... not prohibitive, not lackadaisical ... it's just a very intuitive pedal package that doesn't require you to waste two hours finding that 'ideal balance' that then slips out and resets after five minutes of Slipknot. Pretty much straight out of the box you get a well engineered pedal that hasn't skimped on 'minor' components that actually turn out to be 'major' components because they determine how the other, larger, more elaborate constituent parts operate and respond. Just my personal preference but to my feet it feels more intuitive than a great many other more expensive pedals out there. You can actually feel the respective resistances determined by the tensioners, wherever you place them and however you set them up. I've got a range of DWs, Pearls and other historical TAMA kicks yet these are the ones I always go to, just sheerly based on how they feel and respond. Syncopation just feels natural on this model. Not the lightest and fastest but personally that's not what I'm after. They're consice and well pronounced. Just my opinion, yours may differ, but I'd recommend the HP200PTW hands down for anything from jazz fusion to death metal. If you'd prefer sheer speed and prioritise that over tonal pronunciation and clarity, then maybe go for one of the renowned faster pedals with a different drive system.
