![Space Adventure Cobra: The Animated Movie UHD [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61VbHRaX3aL.jpg)

This UHD disc is all region and playable worldwide! It includes the original Japanese language with English subtitles, and the US English dub! In a universe swarming with inhabited planets and bizarre aliens, corrupt governments operate in the pay of star-spanning criminal syndicates and the Justice Federation of United Galaxies places a price on the heads of hardened criminals. The highest bounty of all rests with the infamous space pirate Cobra, an unstoppable rogue whose left arm conceals a devastating psycho-gun. Presumed dead for two years, Cobra comes out of retirement after an encounter with the beautiful bounty-hunter Jane - a decision which leads him into direct conflict with the sinister Galaxy Pirates, a vast criminal organization led by Crystal Bowie; the personification of death itself. Together with his female android companion Lady, Cobra sets out with Jane to rescue the bounty-hunter's two lost sisters, and save the wandering planet Miras. But Crystal Bowie is never far behind, and deception and betrayal wait around every corner. A fast-moving, stylish and furiously inventive film from the pen of classic Manga writer Buichi Terasawa, Space Adventure Cobra mixes humor and drama in a pulse pounding hymn to the power of love, death, and heavy weaponry! Review: The Psychogun Returns on Blu ray! - Ok so unlike the two reviews on this page, I actually bought the product. These types of one sided reviews do not help desertcart at all. Also they weird. Anyways, Space Adventure Cobra has finally arrived on blu ray. The series has been lovingly restored in 1080p. Excellent quality, no artificial sharpening or DNR. Looks stunning I may say. The set is 3 discs with 31 eps and a few special features. Those features are ep 1-2 that were dubbed along with an interview with the shows creator Sound is just..oh my lord. We get three sublime tracks. A remastered 5.1 DTS, 2.0 and something I rarely see on releases, the original mono track, wow! Cobra is non stop fun featuring the titular cocky character blasting his way through space pirates accompanied by his bad a** robot Lady Armaroid. A mostly episodic series with some story arcs spread throughout the 31 episodes. It’s never boring I can’t suggest this enough. If you want a cool and classy show, back when anime had more of an edge, Cobra is the one for you. Don’t forget the feature film to accompany it. Now see folks; that’s how you write a review, not vague statements that don’t match the product. Review: Classic series in Bluray! - Can't go wrong with Cobra.

Finally! Cobra the series is on blu ray!
I was soooo happy when I saw this series was on blu ray. Instantly ordered it. This is actually the first time I’m able to watch every episode in order from start to finish. I’ve been a Cobra fan since the Matthew Sweet video “Girlfriend”. More specifically, I fell in love with Jane Royal in that video. I actually knew nothing about the anime and in the early 90s there was no way of easily finding out. I didn’t find out its name until I saw the Space Adventure Cobra movie (vhs) at a blockbusters in late 90s. Couldn’t wait to watch it. And was sorely disappointed. Disappointed to discover the goofy looking blond dude was the main character instead of Jane. That she dies halfway through the movie. And it just wasn’t that good a movie. It didn’t help that the dub, especially for Corbra himself, was just horrible. Now I did love the art style and the animation was really good, even by today’s standards. Plus the Matthew Sweet video was a bonus feature after the movie. After that the movie did fade from memory rather quickly. (Spoilers for series ahead) About ten years later after I had internet access for a few years and recently got broadband that I would rediscover Cobra. The manga and the tv series. I was able to watch the entire Royal sisters arc which made me love Jane even more, even though she still dies fairly early in the show. But I was never able to see the whole series until now. It was a much better experience. We’re actually able to meet Cobra and get to know him rather quickly before the story really takes off. He’s still a doofus, even after he gets his memories back and a bit of a womanizer, though not as bad as Sean Connery’s Bond. And I really love Lady (his partner) who I actually forgot was in the movie. I wish she was in more episodes but she does feature prominently in quite a few (unlike Cobra The Animation series where she barely gets five minutes of screen time in 12 episodes!). Being a fan of 80s anime, I really like the art style and animation itself is really good and holds up well today. It doesn’t really lean on heavy scifi stuff but more that Buck Rogers / Flash Gordon type adventure fun. Cobra does see himself as a ladies man and can be lewd at times, again, not as bad as Bond has ever been. And it would be fair to criticize the show for the fact that every woman in this universe is either wearing a bikini or thong leotard. But surprisingly this is treated like normal attire and never comes off as blatantly ecchi as 90 percent of anime today filled with under age teenage girls. As a fan of Gatchaman, He-Man and She Ra, and the more recent Starblazers (Battleship Yamato), Cobra has almost everything I want in an animated show. I highly recommend it, especially for fans of sci-fi adventure. You will have a good time.

Cobra Animated Movie in 4K
This classic movie is a must see in 4K with HDR. I personally found the movie a little overpriced but HDR is totally worthy, the clarity of the colors make this movie looks awesome. I hope to see more anime in 4K with HDR. By the way, to see this movie you need the 4K movie, a 4K bluray player and a 4K or 8K TV. Thanks.

Anime GOAT
This might be the best anime series of all time. The main character, Cobra is like a combination of James Bond, Mega Man, and Rutger Hauer. Traveling through an 80s dream of futuristic outer space, hooking up with hot babes and incinerating evil doers. It’ll put hair on your chest and good thoughts in your mind

A decidedly European scifi/fantasy space opera.
I am not a fan of Anime. That needed to be said, sure I liked Akira and Samurai Champloo is amazing, but I'm not a fan of the genre. I cherry pick the classics that are up my alley, like Ninja Scroll and Cowboy Bebop. This movie though... this is a work of art. I'm a huge fan of 70s/80s scifi, especially Moebius. This is like watching a French Scifi graphic novel from the early 80s unfold on screen. The music and artwork are so unique that I cannot recommend this enough to scifi/fantasy fans of the era

This movie is a force of nature. It's hard to describe how exquisitely weird it is, without being nonsense. So many strong 80's sci-fi motifs, varieties of ray guns and space ships and such, weird costumes, and actually quite excellent animation. I'd never go so far as to say that it's "good", but it is absolutely incredible.
