Bodum Canteen Double Wall Espresso/Shot Glass, Set of 2

I really love my Bodum Canteen glasses, and I highly recommend them. However A FEW TIPS ON CARE AND USE SO AVOID BREAKING THEM. #1 Never use a metal spoon to stir; and #2 Don't drop ice cubes into the glass (For larger size versions set the cubes gently inside). If you do that then you are good to go. Before getting with the program I broke 2 glasses doing each of those things. Seriously, just simple stirring with a metal spoon, and dropping an ice cube from the rim broke glasses. I have a stainless steel sink, so I've never broken one in the sink while washing. But I would be very careful if you have a porcelain cast iron sink, because I'll bet they could break easily if tipped over, or bumped the side in that type of sink. That being said, the glasses are amazing. They keep hot liquids hot and comfortable to handle. And they keep cold beverages cold without sweating. These 'Canteen' style glasses have become my basic glasses. Especially the 'D.O.F. Double Old Fashion size, and the larger (I think they think of them as a beer size) which are great for espresso drinks and cocktails, etc. Although, there are no young kids in my household, so you may want to consider that to avoid breakage. Probably not great glasses for young kids. Cheers.

These are the best glass to serve Espresso in. I ordered a pair along with a pair of the larger Cappuccino Glasses and then reordered both cause I loved them as did my family and friends. They are beautiful to look at, insulated so easy to hold and keep the Espresso hot. They are delicate so need to be handled/cleaned very carefully. They are not inexpensive but if you are an Espresso fan they are well worth the investment.

These are great little glasses. Yes, they have that little rubber plug on the bottom, but if you read the literature it's part of the design. It lets cold and hot air in and out as necessary to balance the pressure between the glass layers and keeps it from fogging up and possibly breaking. Makes perfect sense to me. I have run these through the dishwasher a few times and no problems. We are careful AS THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY to not cram them tight between stuff in the dishwasher. That little rubber plug thing probably keeps the pressure perfect so the glasses survive just fine. The instructions DO NOT tell you NOT to put them in the dishwasher. I use these for espresso but may also use them for small freezer cold alcoholic beverages in the future. They would be perfect for both. Keeps the cold cold and the hot hot.

My wife and I have ordered many Bodum double walled glasses over the decades in various sizes and forms. The are beautiful and they do work to retain heat of hot beverages and keep cold beverages colder longer. They have a valve system to keep the insulated pocket of air stable. We use them in the microwave and put them into the dishwasher. We don't stir them vigorously or toss ice into them with abandon because that will create microfractures that can leak. In fact, many of the leaks come this way rather than from valve failure--yes, I did the experiment to verify this. If you drop them, you will not be able to count the pieces or even find some of them. Plan to order a few more now and then. Maybe 2-4 every 5 years. We have had better success over the years, so maybe the design has evolved.

My wife enjoyed her previous set until she broke (over time) 2 of the 4. I bought these to replace them. Hers were elegantly dainty. These are not. She only uses them when she has the remaining two of the old set unavailable, or has guests.

These espresso glasses are prefect for the coffee aficionado who wants to watch their espresso shots go from machine to glass. These glasses then keep it hot for maximum enjoyment and aesthetic satisfaction.

It's a real shame these aren't made anymore. I have used them for years, and while I do like the older version better, these are well made and a perfect size for a double shot without working about overflow.

I initially came across double walled glasses in a Bodum store in Scandinavia perhaps 5 years ago. They looked great and felt very delicate and nice when I had the opportunity to try them out with some hot coffee at a friends place. Now years later I decided to buy the 3 oz and the 13.5 oz versions from Amazon. Like other people have noted, the design is not the same as it used to be. For some reason a silicone plug and some less-than-pretty text have been added to the bottom of the glass. It is of course understandable that products are changed over time, but what is bad in this particular case is that the silicone plug and text does not show on the front side of the product box. There is however a photo and text on the side of the box saying "BODUM(R) Air - Double wall glasses that breathe". Unfortunately this side is not included in the product description on Amazon. I regret buying these. In the future I will refrain from buying any Bodum branded goods online and I will be more careful buying anything design sensitive from Amazon.

Bonitas y elegantes. Sin problemas por el momento aunque parecen algo frágiles. No son para café porque son bastante grandes. Más bien para infusiones.

Had some of these before and they've been great. There quite a small size.. more for the kind of drink you sip at -- eg. speciality teas or strong types of coffee. In a way the handle is superfluous because even with boiling water in you can hold the body and it only feels a bit warm. Ordered a pair for my 10 year old Nephew as even though he won't be drinking hot tea or coffee just yet they are a great size for someone of about 7 to 11 years old for normal drinks of milk etc, -- the bonus being for him over normal drinking glasses is that they're interesting and scientific looking.

Habe mir die Gläser zu meiner Nespresso-Maschine (Citiz-Modell) bestellt. Die Größe passt perfekt zur Maschine. Ein Glas hat das Fassungsvermögen für einen Espresso und einen guten Schuss Milch. Wer lieber die doppelte Menge Kaffee trinkt (große Portion bei der Nespresso), sollte zur nächst größeren Version greifen. Ich bin begeistert von Design und Funktion. Auch nach 5 Minuten ist der Espresso immer noch heiß und das Glas angenehm kühl. Auf der Unterseite des Glases ist ein Silikon-Pad aufgeklebt welches laut Packungsbeilage den Temperaturausgleich vereinfachen und Spannungsbrüchen vorbeugen soll. Ich war erst skeptisch, auch Aufgrund einer vorangegangen Rezension ob die Gläser in der Spülmaschine dicht sind. Hatte aber auch nach ca. 40 Spülgängen bisher keine Probleme.

utilisés pour un bon café expresso, ces Bodum sont idéaux.. ils sont bien entendu fragiles, j'en rachète chaque année, mais je ne peux pas m'en passer, ils sont fait pour boire le café sans se bruler !! La forme est jolie et élégante
