Great kit, a good match for actual antique hardware
I'd call myself a wiring beginner but when my favorite antique lamp started acting "off" I knew it was time to rewire. The hardware matched perfectly to the actual antique metal hardware that stayed on my lamp. I only used the socket and wire from this kit but the instructions were amazing and helped me replace the parts that needed to be replaced. I followed the directions, and the lamp works like it's brand new. This kit was a great value. **Edit to add** since writing this, I have rewired two more antique lamps after purchasing the same kit. It's so simple to fix and I feel much more safe with updated wiring.

Saved a family heirloom
I inherited my grandmother’s house and all her possessions. In digging through the attic I found this cypress knee lamp my great great uncle had made in 1957. Being that it had been in the attic for 42 Texas summers, I decided instead of plugging in I would just buy a new wiring kit for it. I’ve never wired a lamp before but this kit made it super easy! Since the old wiring was so brittle and falling apart I just cut the wires and pulled it all out. I followed the directions provided, and sure enough, it works great! Got a GE LED 60 watt bulb in it, which looks similar to an Edison bulb, and bought a new lamp shade from Lowe’s and it turned out beautiful! It’s been working great for a couple of months with no issues

Complete kit, make sure you order correct socket.
Excellent quality kit, complete and well packaged. Everything you need to conduct a lamp rewire. Giving 4 stars only as the description was not clear if I was receiving a one way or three way socket. Shame on me for not clarifying before ordering. Suggest that the description be updated for clarity.

A new skill acquired & mastered
Well I failed the first few times -user error- because I kept forgetting to set up the bottom portion first and work my way up. Every time I thought I had it I realized I had made another mistake. After the third try, after I took everything apart all over again, try number four hit the mark!It was easy enough to figure out without instructions. The picture was the most useful. I’d never wired a lamp before so this was an awesome new experience for me. I did some research on my own, ordered what I thought I needed, & then trial and error for me there. Don’t get me wrong. I made it a functioning working light 💡 on the first try, but since I kept forgetting pieces that had to go in first before the pipe, it wouldn’t stay up. Each time I realized what I’d done wrong the time before. It became an excellent learning experience & great reinforcement of what I’d learned by the repetition of the same steps several times.I’m now fully confident that I could easily go fix any desk lamp & maybe even standing lamps as well.Really happy with this & so glad it all worked out. I restore antiques for a living, & this will be quite a nice skill to add to my toolbox.

Completed 4 lamps in under an hour!
This kit is the perfect choice for rewiring existing lamps, too. The kit had everything I needed (including simple to follow instructions and illustrations) to rewire and replace components of lamps we've not used for years due to frayed wires. I ordered four kits and reworked four lamps in under an hour. I have to admit I was a bit anxious about rewiring these lamps, but this kit allowed me to complete the work with confidence ... and it was fast and easy!

PERFECT
Perfect! Clear directions, easy to do and relatively inexpensive. I had a beautiful antique cut lead CRYSTAL lamp that the switch broke. I was far too attached to it just get rid of it and did not want the expense of taking it in for the repair. I saw this and thought "Why not?" My beautiful antique is now lighting up my living room once again and it's better than it ever was. In total it took about 1/2 an hour to reassemble the lamp with the new fittings. I'm so glad I found this! I have a beautiful wine bottle I've been wanting to do something with, now I know exactly what to do. Great product, quick delivery, good directions if you are DIY inclined and they make sure you have every part you might possibly need. I might just have a new hobby.

Transforming something into a lamp kit
Nothing fancy, right parts for fixing an old beloved flickering lamp. Used kit for part on a small bedside lamp bought in 1977, with lots of leftover parts. Might be a little bit of overkill, actually. But it came quickly and the switch is a quality part, works flawlessly. We ended up tossing the bits we didn't need rather than keeping them on the off chance SOMEDAY they'd come in handy. This kit is probably better for making a lamp out of an object that wasn't already a lamp. But a solid kit, none-the-less.
