If you have CFS/ME and get PEM, consider giving this a try - it helps me.
I have CFS and I could write a novel on the doctors/tests/medicines/supplements+vitamins I've tried over the years. Usually, most things I try don't do anything. Occasionally, some things work for a short period of time and then never again (more on this later). Finally, I've found something that seems to actually prevent or decrease the severity of PEM (post exertional malaise). Glutathione is really important for everybody, but especially for people with CFS/ME. One hypothesis is that glutathione dysregulation is a major factor in CFS/ME and other diseases, and many specialists have protocols to specifically increase glutathione. One great way to increase it is by taking a high quality non-denatured whey protein (it contains the precursor for glutathione). However, I unfortunately don't seem to tolerate whey. However, I do tolerate this liposomal glutathione, and I've discovered that if I take 3 doses (3 1/4 teaspoons) at the beginning of a PEM attack, it is either much less severe than normal or never actually happens. Dr. Goldstein, a well respected CFS specialist who pioneered many treatments for CFS mentioned that if he administered at least 1 gram of inositol to his patients, they didn't develop the common phenomena where a treatment would help once and then never again. I'm not sure why this is, but since I've finally found something that seems to help, I've been taking about 2-3 grams of inositol every day, as insurance that it won't stop working. Liposomal glutathione is expensive, and for that reason I'm not taking it every day. But knowing that there is something that I can take when I really need it is really reassuring. It's not a cure by any means, but it makes a really awful symptom less paralyzing. Just as an aside, the company contacted me after I placed my first order (I've since reordered this product several times) to let me know that people with chronic health issues may need to take a higher dose to feel effects. As of now, I'm finding that 3 doses seems to be my sweet spot; you may want to try taking a higher dose if the standard dose doesn't seem to do anything. UPDATE 7/21/2017: I have since reordered this product several times. It makes a huge difference for me to avoid PEM (post exertional malaise) after doing some extra activity. I have recently learned about a probiotic to increase bacteria that actually produce glutathione endogenously. I've been taking it for 2 weeks and am starting to see some improvements. For anyone interested, the probiotic is Lactobacillus Fermentum and this is the one I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/RegActiv-Detox-Liver-Health-Capsules/dp/B00VH4ZSJG/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1500658901&sr=8-9&keywords=lactobacillus+fermentum Reg'Activ Detox & Liver Health, 60 Capsules

Not having it for a few days sold me on the need to always have it. It works and helps greatly with lyme symptoms.
I've been taking this in treatment of chronic lyme disease. Two experiences without it for a number of days allow me to say how much better I feel when I'm taking it. Overall energy is a factor but it seems specifically the energy in my muscles. We were recently camping and I thought I had lost this product and the liposomal C which I also take. After 2 days the muscle soreness and 'vibrations' (lyme people know what this means) were coming back full force and I knew the camping trip would be shot if I didn't get some asap. Went to a local library to use the internet and got a one day order to a nearby restaurant ( kudos belong to Amazon: for getting me a one day order made after 4pm by 2 pm the next day in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin!). Anyway, my husband found the bottles I had packed and within 24 hours I was feeling much better and the muscle fatigue had returned to the former low level. This was a carbon copy experience to the first time when I had forgotten to take them for 3 or 4 days. Same creeping symptoms, same resolution upon resuming. Love this product although it is pricey, it has justified its cost to me. Also love the vitamin C product and the whole liposomal delivery method. And it doesn't taste yucky either.

Waiting for results
This is the most disgusting thing I've ever tasted. It tastes like rotten oranges and eggs... the taste lingers in my mouth all day. I hope it works and that the sacrifice is worth it.

Liver Detox!
Background: In December of 2021 my liver enzymes spiked 180 ALT 140ish AST. I get liver function tests every 3 months since I (was taking) methotrexate for my RA, otherwise I was not having any symptoms. I was told by my Rheumatologist to stay off of alcohol for 2 weeks and restest. Two weeks later my levels dropped to 86 ALT at 45 AST. Doc said it looks good my levels were improving so I was cleared to resume methotrexate (at a lower dose). I went back to my very casual lifestyle of having a few drinks per week and resumed life as normal. Fast forward two months and my levels went back up to 104/45. At this point I was referred to a hepatologist. I abstained from drinking again for two weeks and when I saw the liver doc, they re-ran bloodwork and my levels dropped again to 74/40, still outside of the normal range. Liver scans showed nothing and my fiber scan showed a little fatty liver and no scaring. Doc told me to stay off drinking and come back in a month. 1 month later (alcohol free) my numbers went up again to 104! At this point I became very upset/frustrated. To spare you too much detail, what we think started this is. Covid in December (very light Covid) caused the initial liver injury leading to the spike. Covid is known to cause hepatitis(inflammation) of the liver. My Bilirubin also is higher than normal so they think my alt/ast levels have been slow to drop potentially because of Gilbert’s Syndrome. Otherwise I did show a previous infection of EBV. I’m suspicious Covid may have reactivated latent EBV as well, but I’m no doctor. 5 months of testing my levels and they would not lower. I found Glutathione when researching ways to suppress viral activity in the body (Covid/EBV etc). After taking this product for 5 weeks, I can report my levels went down to just around normal range! (40 alt/ 26 ast). I’m also taking standard process AF betafood and SP greenfood. I cannot say for sure if my body just healed itself or if it was either supplement, but if you are stuck in the same boat I was, it’s certainly worth a try!! Other notes: The taste is not that bad I use a syringe (from my infants Tylenol) to dose in the morning.

NOPE. Smell and taste defeated me.
I disregarded the reviews that said this was highly unpalatable, because Intake a lot of supplements that don’t taste great, so I figured it couldn’t be much worse. WRONG. I am not exaggerating when I say ai removed the plastic seal and immediately turned around to look for my dog because I was sure he had just farted. The sulfuric-rotten egg-stagnant sewer smell was filled the room as I realized where it was coming from. But I decided to soldier on. This stuff is expensive, I’m managing a complex health situation, so I was determined to get my dose twice a day. I tried all my tricks: I mixed and chased with honey, maple syrup, maple cream, orange juice and pineapple juice. I plugged my nose and tried not to breath. I laid back and thought of England. I took deep breaths through the nausea. I stopped short of breaking out a gas mask. The taste and smell is so pervasive, so strong that not only can it not be masked, it lingers in one’s mouth and the room long after one manages to swallow. Convinced I was over-reacting, I waved the open bottle under my unsuspecting husband’s nose and he staggered several steps, trying not to gag while rage-whispering: “For the love of god, WHAT IS IT?!” So to all of those I doubted, I apologize. To the rotten-egg goo: You have defeated me. To the company that produces this: I have no doubt your product is high quality but it brought my special forces husband and his supplement-hardened wife to their knees. There has to be a better way.

Still waiting on whether this is effective or not
Health benefits are still to be determined. Functional Dr recommended I take glutathione. This seems to be superior to others on the market from my research. The taste is horrific. The reviews are not wrong. To be exact, the taste is identical to the yellow part of an egg. I put 3/4 of a teaspoon in my mouth, under my tongue, while holding my nose. Then I get a glass of water to wash it down with after I quickly let go of my nostrils. It's only about 30 seconds of the unpleasant taste this way. Hopefully this advice can help you. I might try a different brand when I run out, if I can find a similar legitimate brand, that is. The first week I took this I started feeling all the same symptoms of my previous illnesses. This is d*e-off. It releases the toxins from your body so I feel like this is helping. I don't feel any more energetic though, but I think it's bc my body has high levels of viral load that needs to be dealt with first. I will be going back to the Dr in 2 months. I will try to update test results to show if this has helped.

Finally something is helping with my constant fatigue!
I've suffered from chronic fatigue for several years now. My Dr put me on a stimulant to help counteract it. The stimulant works ok, but it's not the kind of thing that I want to be on long-term. Then, about a month and a half ago I developed mono. Nothing could help my fatigue. My prescription stimulant wasn't working and my Dr gave me another stimulant to add to it. Still, with two prescription stimulants onboard, my mono had me completely wiped out. I read that glutathione injections can help patients with mono. I asked my Dr about it and she had never heard of it, so on a whim I tried this. I'm on my second bottle of it and it's worth every penny. My fatigue from mono is better and my chronic fatigue seems better. I'm hoping that this will allow me to go off of the prescription stimulants that I hate taking. One thing to note, this stuff smells horrible. It has a really strong sulphur smell. It doesn't taste nearly as bad as it smells though. I mix it with a little tart cherry juice and take it like a shot. I have a nasty sulphur aftertaste in my mouth, but I'll take about anything to not feel so tired all of the time. The customer service from this company is AMAZING! They reached out to me the day that I received my initial bottle and asked if i had any questions. I told them that I was hoping that this would help with my mono and they responded back right away saying that some patients should and safely can take up to 8 doses a day. They recommended that I increase my dose and so I did. They also said that it is safe to combine your doses. You don't want to have to remember to pull this stuff put 8x a day and since they recommend that you take it on an empty stomach and early in the day, so it doesn't interfere with sleep, it would be near impossible to dose that way. I now take 4 doses first thing in the morning and another 4 doses early afternoon. That seems to work for me. I'm going through it much faster that way, but my health is definitely worth the benefits that I'm seeing.

Just as good as a glutathione precursor
I have CFS/ME (chronic fatigue syndrome) and prior to using this liposomal glutathione I was taking a daily double dose of an expensive name-brand undenatured whey protein. I loved that whey protein because it worked. It gave me energy I hadn't felt in months. Quite literally, the whey protein made the difference between me getting out of bed in the morning or being too exhausted to move each day. So when the name-brand company botched my order and couldn't get their product to me on time, I was desperate to find something else in a pinch. Many CFS/ME experts recommend liposomal glutathione instead of the glutathione precursor I was taking so I thought I'd give it a try. It also didn't hurt that the price of liposomal was less than one-third the price of the precursor (since I was doubling up). I took a chance on this liposomal glutathione, worried if it didn't work I would be back in bed in days. However, much to my delight, the transition has been seamless! I take a spoonful of liposomal glutathione daily in a cup of bone broth and, believe it or not, the glutathione tastes better than the broth! I actually don't mind the flavor of this glutathione. It's supposedly "lemon" flavored, but I don't know that I'd be able to say it has a lemon profile if someone didn't tell me first. The flavor is... weird. There's really no way to explain it. You just have to taste it. I consider the flavor medicinal, I guess. But again, if I'm using it to flavor bone broth (which tastes like super thin gravy), that has to be a positive, right? Regardless of the flavor, as long as it works, that's all that matters to me. And, so far, this liposomal glutathione works!! It's just as good as the expensive name-brand glutathione precursor I was previously using.
