Col. Ichabod Conk Glycerin Soap (Almond 4 Pack)

I've been using this for 10 years and it's wonderful. It lathers well and you get a good shave. It smells really nice. I use it daily and one container lasts about one month. Pay attention to the size of the container. These are the size of a small puck. I usually use the larger ones.

As so many others have said, Colonel Conk's has changed for the worse. This used to be my go-to for many years. I loved the almond scent and the really rich lather that left my skin feeling soft and moisturized.When I saw that they started using cardboard instead of plastic clamshells for packaging I was so happy! And then I opened the box. It didn't smell the same. It didn't feel the same. It certainly didn't shave as smoothly. Worst of all, it left my skin dry and irritated. So now I'll be finding another brand. I will never buy this soap again. Spend your money somewhere else.

Ahhhhhh, I love shaving with a safety razor and shave soap. It's so much cheaper than buying those expensive, multi blade disposables, and it makes me feel like a vintage rich man. This is a great option no matter what razor you prefer, and really reduces my irritation and cuts. By far my favorite shave soap.

The soap certainly smells awesome. The packaging was smashed and only part of the soap cake inside the mangled box. I'm blaming the manufacturer. Also the soap circumference size is smaller than my shave mug circumference which makes it difficult to lather the brush. If you are a mug and brush shaver, be sure to measure your mug before ordering.

I have been buying this product for many years. I noticed in the photo they changed the picture so when I ordered it this last time, I had hoped nothing else had changed. However, I soon discovered that the size of the bar is reduced but the price was not. Also, the shape was changed and I'm not sure I really like it. I mean I know previously it was shipped in plastic and now it's shipped in cardboard that's fine. But you had a good product for many many years so I'm not sure what the additional changes were needed for. I guess it's just like the 1/2 of ice cream that are no longer 1/2 gallon. Looks like I'll be trying out some new brands.Also in the description they still show the old weight but the product shipped i the new lower weight!!! You should at the least correct the size of what you are sending to customers.Update: After using for several days for sure as others have posted the formula has been changed. There really is no smell and the lather is not what it was. This does not even seem like shaving soap anymore more like just soap. I used some of the Ivory from the shower and lather was the same and at least the Ivory had some sent.You have lost a long time customer!!!

I bought a sampler of this brand a few Christmases ago for my husband. Two years later he needs a refill and this by far was his favorite scent. He says it lathers well and doesn't dry out or irritate his skin. It really provides a close shave with his straight razor and I love the scent too.

I have enjoyed Colonel Conk soap for several years. I love almond scents and theirs WAS an excellent choice at a great price.I went to replenish my supply and was surprised to receive 4 cardboard boxes, rather than the usual plastic. So, the advertisement photo does not reflect the product you receive.It is definitely not the same type of soap, either. Sure, I am still able to shave but, the quality from, both, the scent and the lather is subpar in comparison to the prior formula.Is it usable? Yes. Would I ever buy this again? No.So, if this is the new product, I will be searching for my new go to shave soap.
