Ooni 14” Perforated Pizza Peel – 14 Inch Aluminium Peel, Pizza Spatula Paddle, Lightweight Turning Peel with Long Handle

My son has been wanting one of these for a !ong time, so it is an early Christmas present and he is thrilled!

Bit of an odd review this one..... The ooni peel does what I want it to do, it slides under pizzas nicely and they slide off just as well. It's slightly wider and longer than what I had by about 2inches each way, which is good. Is it worth £70odd quid? No way. Yes its light weight and easy to use but it feels flimsy and cheap. Even leaving it near the pizza oven, the heat was enough to make it curve slightly, until I noticed and moved it to a flat surface where it cooled an mostly returned to its flat shape They shouldn't be charging £30 for it really, it's not worth it.

It's the right size, but! It's so blunt, I mean the edge is so thick, that putting a pizza on it is a nightmare until you actually take it to a grinder and sharpen it like GI Metal peels. Now, after grinding it's OK, but how can they sell such thick peels? I mean come on, most of the users will be amateurs! And if I, a pizzaiolo had problems with it, just think how hard it will be for average Joe.

Very expensive but well made. Whilst this is by Ooni and it states in the description that it is suitable for all pizza ovens it does not fit in the Ooni Fyra Pizza oven so is completely useless to me! My advice is therefore to measure the opening of your oven before you buy!

Just received my ooni 14inch piza peel looks very nice, but not received my ooni koda 16 yet, so hopefully turns up soon and can then try it out
