For years I've obscured camera apertures with bits of tape, Blu-Tack, or folded-over bits of plastic tucked into the 'phone case. Effective enough, but tape and Blu-Tack picks up dust and debris, the plastic gets caught on the inside of a pocket, and all of these look awful - always eventually failing, needing to be replaced. Whoever invented these, I'd like to thank and give a high-five. These cute little things are large enough to be effective/ of use, small enough to not be obtrusive, and they look really good. I plumped for the white ones, because I want to be able to see at a glance if the slider has moved without my knowing, which is easy with the white against a black background as the contrast makes it obvious. This also helps to indicate when I have forgotten to slide it back after use - instead of the solid white, there is the white and the black circle when it is open. I fitted one to my 'phone, and the other to my tablet. Fitting was easy to get right first time; I made sure my hands were free of grease and for best adhesion used an alcohol wipe on the screen surface - allowing it to evaporate dry, I used a clean microfibre cloth to eliminate any streaking; then, after sliding open the aperture, to allow for perfect alignment, using the supplied clear sticky tab I stuck the tab to it, and lined up the aperture to the camera - once happy with the position, I peeled the backing off and firmly stuck it down. They are stuck fast, no chance of them budging any time soon. The one on my 'phone is on top of my flexible screen protector - I worried it might not stick well, but, it has stuck down beautifully. The body of the item is metal, the slider is plastic. I don't know why that is, but it is of no consequence. I was so happy with them, once fitted, I bought another two as back-ups/ spares. I'd buy these again, too, if the need arose. I think they are a brilliant idea, well-made, great value for money, and serve a super purpose - when it comes to security, it's best to be a little bit paranoid, than totally blasé.

Well made, have tried similar items previously that used to fall off very easily, but this one has stayed on extremely well - still using the same one for over a year. It is discrete and flush with your laptop and does not cause any issues when closing the laptop. Highly recommend

Not metal as advertised, but rather plastic, hence the 1-star deduction. Otherwise, all very good. Simple enough to install if you have experience of doing glass phone screen protectors, although size can make it a little fiddly. Works well, recommended.

Positives: - this is the one to buy! - Simple to install, small, slim & smart looking - feel's solidly attached & robust. Has just the right resistance, so it's easy to slide under your thumb, but you can be confident that it won't slide open on it's own. - Has a plenty large enough hole for my laptop camera. As another reviewer's photo showed, it's much smaller than the other common style at this price point, but also has a larger camera hole! Negatives: - The title and description say 'metal', whereas this is obviously black plastic. I don't see this as a negative - plastic is perfect for this application & blends with my back plastic laptop, just don't like the false marketing. - The only weird thing is the current price point - the 2 pack has a cheaper unit cost than the 3 or 5 pack?!

Does the work

The cover sliders are thin and sit firmly. I can barely notice them. I use it for my Asus laptop and my Samsung tablet. Recommend.

I bought this so the camera on my laptop would be covered when not in use. Many of my coworkers taped over theirs, but that is a pain if you need to video conference. This cover is great. It covers the camera when not in use, and then slides out of the way when you need the camera. I have not had any problem with it, it has stayed put where I originally stuck it (I didn't use it for the first day or so, just in case it needed some time to adhere properly). It would probably fit on my phone's smaller, screen-side camera (other than my screen protector being in the way) but it will not fit my phone's larger camera. But, I bought it for my laptop and it works great for that.
