Alba Botanica is my favorite brand for sunscreen products and it checks all the boxes on my list: Excellent long lasting coverage, fine mist spray and easy coverage cream versions, great for my sensitive skin (no breakouts- I do NOT use it on my face though), the Hawaiian fragrance is pleasant, it’s reef safe (a big one for me as a snorkel/dive aficionado), and organic ingredients. The large size lasts 5 full days when on a boat all day in the Carribbean, and I only apply it twice (once in morning, and again midday.) I have fair skin, and I never burn. The spray version is, by nature of its aerosol capacity, a bit drying on the skin, but this is to be expected, and it creates a long lasting barrier. The cream version is a wonderful emollient, although not quite as long lasting. Best deal is only in the summer season at CostCo for a 2 pack... in my searches, Amazon has the best deal otherwise.

After trying countless sunscreens that either left me feeling like I was wearing a mask or contained ingredients I’d rather avoid, I finally found a winner with Alba Botanical SPF 30 sunscreen. This product delivers exactly what I want from sun protection without the usual compromises. The texture is what initially won me over. Unlike so many sunscreens that sit heavily on your skin or create that dreaded cakey feeling, this one absorbs beautifully and feels surprisingly lightweight. I can apply it liberally without feeling like I’m wearing armor, which means I’m actually more likely to reapply throughout the day. What really sets this apart is the clean ingredient list. Alba Botanica has clearly put thought into formulating without the harsh chemicals that have been getting attention lately. It’s reassuring to know I’m protecting my skin from UV damage without exposing it to potentially problematic ingredients in the process. The sun protection itself is solid and reliable. I’ve worn this during long beach days, hiking trips, and daily outdoor activities without any burning or irritation.

Complete waste of money! I ended up tossing it out because it’s IMPOSSIBLE to use. You should be able to twist the top to lock/unlock and spray it. NOPE. The top just spins and doesn’t catch or you cannot twist it at all. It’s also virtually impossible to spray. I had to hold it against my torso and press with both thumbs to get it to spray. Meanwhile, it’s leaking, the bottle is getting slippery. And then the spray goes EVERYWHERE, it’s not a narrow spray but it’s as if you’re dusting crops. I tried to see if it needed a certain pressure point, two fingers, bloody hell it’s not a Magic Mouse you should be able to unlock and spray it with one hand. Anyway, Alba needs to do some QC on their packaging. The last pump lotion I got, the pump also did not work. It just spun and spun and could not be unlocked. I had to wash and reuse the pump from an old bottle.

First of all, the smell was amazing! I know I'll order this again, and will be taken back to St Croix every time I smell it! Secondly, my skin felt hydrated all day when this was on. I am very fair skinned and was in the sun every day for a month for 1-3 hours at a time and never got burned. I hunted the internet for a reef-safe sunscreen and found out that the definition is varied on what that entails, but this one seemed to be in the safe category. I think that my can has one more application in it, so I am happy with the size. Highly recommend!!!

Smaller size than what Costco sells as a two pack. But needed it fast! Amazon delivers. Spray doesn’t last long as need to reapply love the smell of Alba. Smaller size can is lighter for my beach bag.

For those of you who said the bottle does not spray-- look closely on the top of the sprayer nozzle THERE IS the word LOCK with an arrow by it. (It needs to be clearer.) IT WORKS if you turn in the direction of the arrow half way around. IT WON'T OPEN UNLESS YOU TURN the top in THE DIRECTION OF THE ARROW so it unlocks. You can lock it again so it won't leak - a nice feature. I love the product and the clean Alba brand. Recommend.

Ocean safe

Honest review here. I struggled, especially living in Florida, finding a chemical free safe sunscreen that I loved. I have kids and want to make sure they are not only protected from the sun but also from harsh chemicals. I recently read an article (you can find if you google Dr. Axe sunscreen) and it has a list of EWG rated (good ones) of mineral and non mineral based sunscreens. There were very few spray ones on the list and this was one of them. I can attest it works great but must apply well (as with any sunscreen). I love that it is spray and 50 and last for up to 80 minutes of swim time. SO, it's also waterproof! It was in my opinion one of the best on the list. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
