OMG, why did I wait to get this?
I have has a smaller electric unit (Westinghouse 2K), which I still love and will use a lot for smaller jobs. However I have a lot of hard surfaces on my property and, living in the Pacific NW with the rain, trees and shade means I also have a LOT of moss and other organic buildup to deal with. I have done a lot of research. I've purchased other pressure washers. I finally decided to make the investment in a commercial grade machine because I wasn't getting the results I wanted in any reasonable amount of time and my electric simply doesn't drive a surface cleaner. Manually wanding my driveway was taking days with the electric and that was just focusing on the most important areas. So, with some advice of a trusted friend who owns a rental company, I decided to take the plunge on something with enough pressure (4k PSI) and GPM (3.5 or more) to make a meaningful impact. All I can say is: Wow! In the first 3.5 hours of use, coupled with the Mekoh 18" surface cleaner, I was able to clean 3 times the amount of moss-coated (thick in many spots) surface compared to the surface cleaned in 3+ days manually wanding. I also have a sports court which needs love and will be my next tackle. The obvious concern I've had is not stripping off the paint, but still getting the surface clean. So I wanted something I could "back down". While the pump on the 4240 has a regulator, I actually purchased the Simpson pressure regulator and it seems to work quite well. I suppose I could use the pump regulator in tandem with the extra in-line Simpson regulator to really dial it in, but I'd prefer not to muck about with the pumps factory settings. To address some of the concerns I've seen in other reviews: the unit arrived in excellent condition obviously all new and delivered on time. The modest assembly of the draw bar and wand and hose caddy was a matter of two minutes, easy peasy. The Honda engine instructions and the Simpson quick start guide were easy to follow in terms of adding the oil, fuel and then start up. Start up was just as straightforwardas the manual said, and, as long as I was following those instructions [ahem], it started on the first pull every time. I did make a note that others had said it's helpful to pull the trigger when starting and so I did that (but not always, and even when I didn't, and I had the switches and throttles in the right position, it still started on the first pull). While I have only used it for a short time, there was absolutely no evidence of oil leaking or any of the other mechanical issues mentioned. If this changes over time, I'll come back and edit this review. Everything about the pressure washer is commercial/contractor grade. The Monster hose is just that - it seems like it will withstand anything but does take extra effort to maneuver. In all, the unit does require strength and some stamina to operate (because it's so strong) and you'll need a ramp or some help to get it into the back of a pickup. But if you compare it's effectiveness and the substantial reduction of time, I'd say overall that it takes much less effort to get amazing results than less powerful models. Bottom line: if you're tired of putting up with lesser units, and have the budget for this fantastic monster, I highly recommend it.

Disappointed in Quality Control and Customer Support; Motor rubbing on tire
Disappointed in Quality Control and Customer Support EDIT: Amazon made right after contacting them several times. This was a problem on Simpson's end, and they never took any accountability. They were not only hard to get in contact with, but incredibly dismissive of my having an $1100 brick. This is a 1 star for Simpson, and I will never buy any product from them again. Amazon, thank you for dealing with this problem from... omg... it's like Homer Simpson hiding in the bushes. -end EDIT I bought the Simpson 4200 PSI / 4.0 GPM pressure washer and was excited to put it to work—until I realized the cart was rubbing on the motor right out of the box. Not exactly confidence-inspiring on a brand-new unit. There was no way to move the cart at all. This would have been noticed while putting the washer in the box, assembly, or any other step of the way. What other problems am I going to find with this? I reached out to Simpson expecting some accountability or a solution, but instead they just passed the buck and told me to take it up elsewhere. No real help, no interest in fixing the issue. "We just do Parts," the person on the phone told me. Well the parts didn't fit together! For a premium-priced machine, I expected a lot more from both the product and the support team. They told me to try and contact Amazon instead. Very rude person on the phone there as well. I am going to probably end up fixing this myself. You can see from the pictures they mounted the washer 2 inches too far to the left facing the front of the machine. It would be one thing if the manufacturer owned up to the mistake, but she couldn't wait to get me off the phone fast enough. I've never had worse service. I emailed several times with no answer as well.

Very powerful machine…definitely got the job done
I was skeptical about buying this at first because of some of the reviews i read but I decided to give it a shot because of the professional features it has. I have to say i was very impressed after the first use. Very powerful machine and it definitely gets the job done. What took me hours with my previous washer took me minutes to get the job done. So far I'm very satisfied with this machine and for me it was money well spent. If you’re a professional or just want something to tackle those difficult projects that your normal washer can not handle….you can start with this one.

Great product plagued by poor packaging and shipping.
This is a great product. I read all the negative reviews and decided they came down to shipping damage in some cases and misuse in others. So I expected shipping damage and that's what I got, plus a missing hitch pin clip caused a wheel to come off. I knew Amazon would take care of it and they did, but I had to install the replacement parts myself. This is a serious and very powerful pressure washer so if you didn't know how to change out simple mechanical parts you might not really want this size of pressure washer either. Now as.to why they arrive damaged... Poor packaging by the manufacturer and absolutely no arrows on the box indicating right side up. The box was on its side in the Amazon truck and then the guys dropped it on my garage floor upside down. So the muffler heat shield was bent. Otherwise it works fine and I like it but it's overkill for my use around the house and car washing. The one annoying thing is that it absolutely will not start unless you are pulling the trigger on the spray wand while also pulling the starter cord. Otherwise the pump pressure builds up so fast that the engine can never get going. I think that's some sort of design flaw.

Simpson 61014 pressure washer
I am highly impressed with the power and quality of this pressure washer. Coupled with the durability of the Honda engine. It runs smoothly and is quiet compared with other engines. After a quick set up and adding engine oil and gas. I was pressure washing in no time. Highly recommended

Pressure Washer
I recently purchased this pressure washer, and it has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and ease of use. The setup was simple and straightforward, and it was ready to go within minutes. The motor provides strong, consistent power, making it easy to tackle everything from cleaning my driveway and patio to washing the siding on my house. One feature I really appreciate is the adjustable spray nozzles. Switching between high pressure for tough stains and a gentler spray for more delicate surfaces is quick and convenient. The hose is a good length, which allows me to move around without constantly relocating the unit. Noise levels are reasonable for the power it delivers, and the compact design makes it easy to store when not in use. My only minor complaint is that the hose can kink if you’re not careful, but once you get used to handling it, it’s manageable. Overall, this pressure washer offers great value for the price. It saves me a lot of time on outdoor cleaning jobs and makes tough tasks feel effortless. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use pressure washer.

STAY AWAY
I started to book some bigger pressure washing jobs so I decided to upgrade from a 2.5 to a 4 gpm machine. I had always used Simpson so I found this machine for an affordable price although it did have a cheaper motor and pump. The item arrived very poorly packaged and oil spilled everywhere. Also the pump had no oil in it although the description says oil is already in the pump. On my first job with this machine the pump blew out and silver sludge went all over a customers driveway. Amazon kindly sent me a new machine (the same one) and allowed me to keep the old one. Fast forward a week and I return to the customers residence that I did not finish the week prior. I work roughly 1 hour and notice a decrease in pressure. I walk to the machine and sure enough two valves have busted and there’s water shooting out of the pump. Amazon refunded my money and I decided to upgrade to another Simpson 4 gpm with Honda motor and Cat pump. Lesson learned: the brand of machine is truly not very important, stick with a Honda motor and either a Cat pump or AR.
