Melissa & Doug On The Go Scratch Art Hidden-Picture Pad - Favorite Things

I gave this 5 stars even though I did have one concern with it. I was looking for fun items for my grandchildren to use when they came to visit me in Florida. (I flew round trip to KY three times during July to bring one down to Florida, take him/her back home and bring the next one down). My five-year-old grandson loved this scratch art. At first his hand would get very tired, but I showed him he did not have to scratch the pictures so hard. He brought these with him during a doctor's appointment I had and it definitely kept him busy. The only negative is the product covering the blank pictures made a bit of a mess on the floor and his lap. But I suppose that is only natural since you are scrapping the product off the page.

This was a HUGE HIT with my 5YO daughter on a recent trip, and even the 11YO cousins wanted to try it out. She was able to use this in the car, the airplane, and the hotel room and every design gave us 10-15 minutes of quiet :) It's small enough to fit in a purse. It does cause little "flakes" to fall everywhere when you scratch off the surface to reveal the design but this isn't a deal breaker for me. I plan to have one of these available for every long trip.

Great option to keep my 4 year old distracted during long trips or flights. Good quality activity scratch book.

Such a cute activity book. Only downfall is it is messy as the residual from the scratch off gets everywhere. Play with it in a confined easy to clean space so you and your child will love it!

This is so fun! The satisfaction of scratching and the excitement of discovering what is hiding underneath makes for lots of fun for my 4 year old. I think this product is great for a large variety of ages too...4-11 maybe. Kept my little one busy for a long time. She sometimes sits in the counter and does it while I'm cooking or doing dishes. Also a great car or travel activity.

My kids LOVE these scratchers. I buy them for road trips because it is like coloring without all the pieces (just one wooden stylus vs a lot of crayons/markets). The stylus stays stored in a little compartment when not in use. One thing to note—it does generate a small amount of mess as the top layer is scratched off but it’s easy to vacuum.

These are great for children to use while traveling. Even my older children enjoyed it!

The concept of this is cool. I bought it to keep the kids entertained on a trip. I’m glad we waited until the hotel to open this because it’s messy!! So much to clean up as they scratch everything off the page. It’s cute and all just be prepared to clean up afterward. Using this on a flat surface that’s easy to clean is best.

Great for my 5 year old. Good practice as he doesn’t like to color, but this helps him practice color within the lines in a fun way. It came a little late so I contacted the seller. They were very quick, friendly and helpful with their reply. Would buy again.

My kids can’t get enough of these books made by Melissa and Doug! They are a great small item to bring along to keep kids busy (and quiet!).
