It has extra switch connections so I added forward and reverse lights. Works great!

I wired it up for the inverter in rv so I could isolate if not needed. Worked great.

I bought four of these switches for connecting a few critical circuits in my house to a portable backup generator. The switches are constructed well, but come with no instructions. They're designed for outdoor use, but I used them indoors and can't comment on their weatherproof effectiveness. They come fitted in a small box that makes them difficult to work with when using 14 or 12 gauge wire, so I discarded the furnished box enclosures and adapted them to a pair of 3-gang electrical boxes (two switches to a box) that gave me more working room. The switches have eight terminals labeled 1 thru 8 and each terminal can accept 2 wires. When the switch is set to 1 the top half of the connections are activated, with terminal 1 connected to terminal 2 and terminal 5 connected to terminal 6. When the switch is set to 2 the bottom half of the connections are activated, with terminal 3 connected to terminal 4 and terminal 7 connected to terminal 8. When the switch is set to 0 all connections are off. I wired the four switches to accommodate crossover power from my generator for one 220 V. circuit and six 110 V. circuits. Very solid product but if you’re using Romex then be sure to buy the larger box version. Almost no room in the small box.

This is a very well built and nice switch. The housing is small, but to fix the problem, we added a junction box and from pig tail wires coming from the rotary switch, we connected all the wires inside the J Box. One issue we noticed that the wiring diagram the comes with it appears to be incorrect. Position 1 connects #1 & #2 lugs. And Position 2 connects #3 & 4 lugs, not as shown on the wiring diagram..

For 20 amp the wire preferable is 14 awg. There is not the space in the housing for three cables (input and two outputs). Difficult to fit two cables, what I needed, not needing a changeover function. The housing is simply too small and only has cable entries for two cables. Switch itself seems robust and well designed except for two outputs bridging of the input is necessary whereas one would expect such bridging to be built in. Rear of the housing as screw holes so free standing switch is not weatherproof. Fits my purpose of mounted weather resistant 20 amp on/off switch so 3 stars due to poor housing sizing and consequent difficulty in wiring. For the function advertised would rate it as zero.
