Leak Protection
I’ve been using Hartz Home Protection Dog Pads for a few months now and overall, they’ve been a reliable solution for indoor potty training and managing accidents—especially helpful during bad weather or long workdays. What I Like: • Odor Control: The lavender scent is subtle but effective. It doesn’t mask smells completely, but it definitely makes a difference in keeping the area from getting unpleasant. • Leak Protection: These pads do a great job with absorption. The quilted design locks in moisture quickly, and the plastic backing prevents leaks onto the floor. Even when my pup uses the same spot more than once, the pad holds up well. • Size Options: They come in multiple sizes, which is great depending on your dog’s breed or crate size. The XL ones are especially helpful for bigger dogs or multiple uses. • Affordable: Compared to some premium brands, Hartz offers solid performance at a budget-friendly price. What Could Be Better: • Edge Leakage: Occasionally, if my dog pees close to the edge, there can be some runoff. A slightly wider absorbent border would help. • Pad Movement: They don’t always stay in place on hardwood or tile floors. I’d recommend using them with a pad holder or anchoring them down in some way. Bottom Line: If you’re looking for dependable, cost-effective pee pads with good odor control and strong absorption, Hartz is a solid choice. While not perfect, they get the job done and are a great option for potty training, older dogs, or apartment living.

Peace of mind for hard working dog owners/lovers.
Thank goodness for these pads. We just adopted a Shih Tzu from our local humane society last February and when we first got her, we didn't leave her alone for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time... always scheduling a lunch break so we could run home and let her out to go to the bathroom and check on her. Luckily we live about five minutes from work so that was possible. Our dog is VERY attached to my wife and doesn't like to be without her for too long. Well, in the last few months our business has really picked up and we have been forced to stay at work for longer periods of time. Thankfully the family who owned our dog previously trained her well to be housebroken and also to use pads if she cannot get outside. Also the humane society generously gave us a package of generic pads to take home as part of an adoption take home package. We did use those at first and they were fine. When we ordered these recently on Amazon though, I started putting one Hartz pad down beside a generic pad when we left. To my surprise, Gracie (our Shih Tzu) chose the Hartz pads every single time, if she had a choice. My wife and I really do prefer these pads to the cheaper ones. They are thicker and more durable, as well as having a better border around the edge to prevent leakage over the side. Every once in a while, Gracie will get too close to the edge and these almost always catch everything so we don't have to do any cleanup on the carpet. With these pads, if we get held longer at work, at least we can rest easy knowing that she can have a place to relieve herself and that when we get home there won't be a mess to clean up or a bad smell to deal with. My wife has a very sensitive nose and she hasn't ever been able to smell a lavender scent from these, BUT she also doesn't smell the pee. :) The pads seem to lock in the smell along with the wetness, which is great. Also, even though these are a little more pricey than some cheaper versions, they are worth the money and not too bad of a deal when you buy 100 at a time. We have been extremely happy with these and will definitely purchase them again.

Been using it for past 4 years now
This is the most cost efficient pee pad that I’ve used, so I’ve been subscribed to this product for about past 4 years now. My dog is a 7 years old 15 lbs bichon frise. It does usually absorb everything without leaving anything underneath. Best quality option within the price rage. It’s easy to clean up but I do fold it before throwing it away because it’s water resistance (if there’s a lot of pee, it will fall). I like to use 2 sheets at a time to cover wider area in case he misses. The scent isn’t strong at all so it doesn’t do much to urine odor. You can smell it wheb you open the package but that’s about it. If you have a bigger dog though, this might be too thin. For small dogs I think this is a great pad.

Smell good.
These are pretty good puppy pads. They smell good. Occasionally they seem to leak a little.

Almost perfect
I have 5 dogs so pee and poop are pretty much my life. Ideally, it would all happen outside. But my life is less than ideal and at 3 am in a cold rain, it ain't happening. So I buy a wide variety of piddle pads. I know good ones and I know bad ones. These are remarkably good. I put down a fresh one every night in the bathroom for my small bladdered female. I swear she gets up more often than I do! These will hold quite a lot!! I have been amazed to see how much! My four males will sometimes use them when my arthritic bones don't allow me to hustle them downstairs at warp speed in the morning. I would not be exaggerating if I said they held several cups. I can't speak about poop holding abilities. Thankfully, she is a middle of the afternoon pooper but I would think they would hold up admirably. The smell is intense for a few seconds after opening each new pad but dissipates quickly to a light, fresh scent. It doesn't cover up urine but it tries. My only real gripe is the backing. It is very slippery on tile flooring. She has had her feet slip out from under her a few times. I've tried several things to help prevent that like placing these directly on top of my bath mat but they still slip a bit. It's the cotton liner slipping against the plastic backing. I would be wary of she had arthritis or a bad joint but thankfully she doesn't.

The best I've found so far.
We have a 20# Chihuahua/Corgi mix, 12# Yorkshire Terrier & an 17 year old & grumpy, strictly indoor cat who doesn't alway hit his litter box. I am disabled & stay at home, but it's difficult for me to get up several times a day to let the dogs out to potty. We use these by our backdoor (on carpet) & in the laundry room (laminate flooring) under the cat's litter box. I have tried more brands of pads than I care to admit, & these by far & away are the best. Like I said, I'm home to let the dogs out during the day, but I found that they will sometimes wait and do their business on the pads AFTER they come back inside. My Yorkie does not like to go outside to begin with. It's almost like they prefer to go on the pads. We go through 6-8 of these per day, so the price, they're not too a bad value, although, less expensive is always better as long as the job gets done. I would like to see a slightly larger pad, just to not have to change the pads so often. These seem to hold the urine smell fairly well & keep everyone's paws dry. They do smell like lavendar out of the bag, but the smell quickly disapates. I don't mind that...as long as I'm not smelling urine I'm happy. Another thing I like about these is I have dexterity issues. These unfold very easily. Other pads I've tried tend to stick to themselves. I can take one out, give it a good shake & it unfolds easily. All in all, a great pad for the money. I would buy the 200 pad pack, but for some reason, they are priced at almost triple the 100 count packs, so we'll stick with these. Suzi (Chi-Corgi), Penelope Yorkshire Terrier), & Sebastian (Grumpy Old Cat) all give these 4 paws up! UPDATE 3/29/18: These continue to be our favorite puppy pads however, I went to order another package & noticed there has been a significant price increase. I paid $15.50/100 on the past few purchased (last bought 2/9/18) Now, 3 weeks later, they are priced at $23.00/100...an over 30% increase. The quality is good, but not worth paying over 30% more, so I'll go back to the Amazon Basics Brand. I'm afraid I'll have to drop my rating by 2 stars as a result.

Absorbent & leakproof!!
A while back, my def and blind cat started peeing in front of her little box instead of inside it. So, I decided to try putting a pee pad in front of her little box. My cat is now used to peeing on these pads and they work perfectly!! They are super absorbent and leakproof. I’ve purchased these at least 5 times and would highly recommend them.

No adhesive tabs to hold in place; lavender scent is nice
If you need adhesive tabs to hold pad in place, this is not best product though absorbency is good.
