![Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51nOhpHtJpL.jpg)

A little girl with blonde hair, blue eyes, and porcelain skin fights on the front lines of a brutal war set in a fantasy world. What others don't know is that she's a reincarnated Japanese office worker who, in his former life, had a ruthless desire to climb the corporate ladder in hopes of retiring to a cushy corner office. After death, Being X decides to give him one last chance to surrender and believe—and Tanya Degurechaff is born. However, Tanya is as stubborn and coldhearted as she was in her former life. Furthermore, her goals remain the same—find a way to retire to a cushy life. Instead, she constantly finds herself being tested on the front lines of the most hostile situations because Being X is determined to win her over, at any cost. Both parties are equally stubborn, and could it be that both are equally evil?Bonus Content:Disc 1 - Saga of Tanya the Evil The Complete Series: Promo Videos Commercials Textless Songs. Review: Action, magic, and Tanya the Evil - Epic re-imagining of European 20th century history - This is a review of the blu-ray edition of "The Saga of Tanya the evil". IThe series comes on two discs. There are some extras but really these are nothing special and can be safely ignored. I have not listened to the English soundtrack. I can't imagine anyone being able to reproduce the Japanese version Tanya's voice in any way that is satisfactory. The subtitles and Japanese soundtrack are great. The Plot - Tanya is a ten year old gril who fights for the army of the Empire against a motley collection of European enemies. She is a battle mage with extraordinary powers and a dark, cruel side which belies her charming, doll-like looks. Funny thing is Tanya has a secret. She's a Tokyo business man who is proud to claim a raft of personality disorders. When he is killed by an employee he has just fired god (Being X) saves him only to discover he's saved an unbeliever. Rather than a nice comfortable rebirth he is thrust into the world of the Empire so he can find belief. Tanya joins the Imperial army where her genius and power are recognised. When the war goes badly she forms a specialist mage unit which helps turn the tide but her methods are borderlime. The action is great, the links to 20th century history and international law are well done. Tanya should lose but you have to root for the girl. GO Tanya go! Commentary - This is an Isekai and in particular it reminded me of Re:Life particularly around the idea of experience leading to a form of rebirth. The rewriting of World War 1 and World War 2 military and politiical history and the investigation of international law add a depth of thought to this which is very unusual and much appreciated. This is really about Tanya. Her character is undoubtedly over done but it works. The action is great and the plot leads you through the series so well. Evil was never so much fun. Summary - Go Tanya go. Evil was never so much fun. This shouldn't be so much fuun. Tanya should be a villain, but she isn't. This is very enjoyable and thought provoking (if you let it be). It reminds me of anime from the 80s, 20s and noughties. It's more realistic, not set in a high school and has an emotional depth and clarity of thought behind it that haven't been seen in current anime in a long time. If you like this you might like: Jin Roh, Bento, Bubblegum Crisis 2048, Goku, Mad Bull. Review: Dark, sick, twisted, and funny, all at the same time - This show is funny and entertaining in ways I didn’t expect it to be, but I didn’t know what to expect to be honest. The story is pretty interesting too, and here’s to hoping the movie gets an English dub and blu ray release, but we do have confirmation for a season 2! It’s only $20 right now, and for that price it’s worth it no question. For me this was a blind buy, and sometimes I regret blind buys, but this was one that I didn’t regret. It follows a salary man who’s killed/murdered and reincarnated as a little girl with all his previous memories from his life as a salaryman. She joins the military as a child and quickly climbs through the ranks, I wouldn’t say shes a psychopath, but it highlights just how twisted our own world is for Tanya to be so broken right from the start. Even her superiors are taken aback by how twisted and broken this child is. Highly recommend to those who find the idea interesting, or entertaining, it’s a very good show. This is an anime adaptation of the light novel series, and if you enjoy the anime it’s worth looking into, as the light novel is very well written. It’s very wordy and can be difficult to read, and I’d say it’s target audience is more young adult/adult, than it is teen. The novel is more focused on the tactical side of warfare, more so than just pure action like the anime. The manga is really good too. But I’d really recommend this series to anyone who enjoys isekai anime, anime as a medium, or anyone wanting to be entertained or be surprised in a good dark twisted way. There’s not really anything else out there that reminds me of Tanya/Youjo Senki. It’s definitely a must watch in my opinion. Enjoy!

Isekai to the core
One of the best Isekai ever. New take on the Genre. Similar ideas to Mushoku tensei!

An interesting take
It's yet another interesting take on alternative history after rebirth. I wish there was a second season or movie to finish the story.

This is worth owning.
I purchased this anime in October and have watched it five times full and typically catch a favorite episode on the fly when I have nothing better to do. I wish the movie had come with this purchase as the movie is the next to buy in order to watch the anime in sequence. First season, then movie, plus whatever hopefully comes next. I really do hope they release a second season. There is plenty of material to make a second season on and more. This is a great anime and worth watching at least twice to catch what you missed the first time around. Few shows are that good that you watch them twice to see if you missed some nuance or foreshadow in order to see deeper into the character or story line. The second watching I felt I had a much better understanding of Visha's character as well as Tanya. (As comparison, I barely got through Dull Metal Picnic once. No offense.) Last point, I enjoyed this anime so much that I purchased the light novels. For English readers they are a little jarring as the translation in the first novel is a bit rough; reads a little disjointed. But you get used to the writing style quick and I think it is worth a read when you are sitting staring at the rain with nothing better than to do than pet your dog and read a light entertainment book. I tend to drone on about anime that I like to the detriment of my fellow employees, tempted here, but I think it is worth owning. If you're a reader pick up the first light novel, I enjoyed the read.

I personally love the books and this is a very faithful to the books. I would like to see a live action version!

Loved this series I purchased it as soon as I could afford it when it was released. The sheer psychotic nature or the Tanya character is just fantastic and I find it humorous at times. Definitely recommend. If it is something I have watched and then purchased after having downloaded it, it is something I can easily recommend to any fan of anime.

'Saga of Tanya the Evil' ('Yōjo Senki') is an isekai (other world) series set that sees a Japanese businessman reincarnated as a little girl with high magical power in an alternate world to fight in a war that combines elements of World Was One and Two. This Complete Series collection contains the 12 episodes of the anime (there is a movie but, at the time of writing I do not believe it has been released in the UK) but with no special features on the DVD. The series is based on a series of light novels and, although I haven’t read them myself, I have heard that the anime deviates quite a bit from the source material, but it remains very entertaining. I am a big fan of the isekai genre, and 'Saga of Tanya the Evil' is one of my favourites with a good mixture of action and comedy alongside a few interesting characters and mostly good animation (although the CGI for the crowd scenes leaves a little to be desired). The Complete Series set includes both the English and Japanese and I personally think they are both just as good as each other. Of the English cast Monica Rial is easily the best of the bunch, giving a brilliant performance as Tanya herself, particularly in her speech after the credits of the final episode. The rest of the cast are almost as good, with Jeannie Tirado as Viktoriya and J. Michael Tatum as Erich von Rerugen being noteworthy. The action in the series is really good, with great areal choreography ad a little gore. The Complete Series DVD set lacks any special features and, unfortunately, also includes the unskippable FUNimation streaming service trailer on the first disc. Overall, I found this series to be highly enjoyable and while I do understand that many people probably wouldn’t like the tone or themes of the series, my own score would be a solid five stars.

Nuevamente me llegó el pedido en algunas horas después de hacerlo, excelente servicio. Gracias Amazon. ¡Saludos!
