We purchased a pair of these microwave safe mugs for my mother who struggles with parkinsonism, and she simply loves them. Being that she can only bear so much weight in her hand, this small, lightweight cup gives her the freedom to enjoy her coffee each day without much fear of it slipping, dropping, and/or breaking. So far it has held up to a few, let's say... "unintentional" crash tests, mostly at the hands of our toddler. My mom said that these cups keep the beverage temperature even, and that while small, they're "just her size". The opening for the handle measures ~2.25" x ~0.75". For scale, I've included a photo of the mug with a quarter resting on it below. We've washed these mugs both by hand and in the dishwasher, and in both cases they came clean quickly, without staining, and haven't lost any of their color (which is maybe a little less vibrant than the picture shows, but only just). If you're interested, these mugs are available in brown and white as well. Altogether, we're thrilled with this purchase, as these mugs have given my mom a modicum of her independence back. I highly recommend these for anyone who struggles with dexterity/strength issues, but I also think that they're great for kids, hikers, and able-bodied adults alike! Nice mug, light weight, stays cool and is easy to pick up and hold.

Nice material & color, stack to save space, dishwasher & microwave safe. I think Japan turns out superior products. Returned with regret because purchased for handicapped man who drops & breaks mugs, but his hands were too large & weight allowed him to tip them due to poor coordination.

We like that it’s microwaveable and non fragile. My son breaks things easily and he won’t break this one!

These cups are excellent for my mother, who is 94 years old. Mom likes to warm her water in the microwave. The water can get very hot but the handle stays cool. She has dropped a few things and these cups do not break. Wonderful cups for elderly. 👍

it's a nice cup, except they sent the child size instead of the 12 oz. I'm not happy about the need to send it back, and I'm hesitant to order again.
