Not What I Needed
Bought the CRAFTSMAN Stud Finder thinking it had a cross-line laser level, but it only provides 3 red spots. Needed a level for hanging and aligning, but this product doesn't offer that.Misleading advertising led me to believe it had more functionality based on the pictures provided. Disappointed in the limitations. If you need a basic stud finder, this might work. But if you require a cross-line laser level, look elsewhere.

Well designed, very versatile - you can tell a lot of thought went into this.
Ever use a tool and just know that the people who designed it actually USE the tool - they're not just sitting in a room on a computer deciding what is and what is not a good design feature? That's what this three dot level is.Why? OK, first there are threaded mounting holes on THREE sides and the bottom. This means that someone has been stuck in a situation where they had to hang or mount a Laser level at a weird angle or location. You can mount it pretty much anywhere using the included mount. The odd inverted "L" shape? It's so you don't have to use a baseplate or mount to see the downward projected dot. If the level is out of plumb, it will slowly flash - but stay illuminated. This way it can still be used at an angle if needed. The mounting clamp is pretty clever. It can be set to a variety of angles and folds up for storage. But it could be better. It's missing a couple basic features: There's no magnet, so you can't stick it magnetically to anything. The clamp adjustment does not have a quick release, so you have to turn the dial - a lot - to open and close the jaws. But it also has a lot of features typically found in higher end clamps. The level height can be adjusted several inches once it's attached. The clamp swivels so you can get the level flat, even on angled pipes and so on. The clamp opens wide - almost 3 inches and has detents for curved items, such as pipes.Really handy tool with a ton of uses. This one is well designed, including rubber shock absorbing bumpers around the entire level. Also includes batteries (2xAA) and a nice case. I also have to give a shout-out to the shaped battery holders in the case. It holds 4xAA batteries - because anyone who uses AA or AAA batteries in tools knows to NEVER store them with the batteries in the tool.

Love this Laser Level!
The media could not be loaded. Took moments to set up (thank you for including the 2 necessary AA batteries!), is incredibly easy to use, and comes in a spectacular case to keep it safe. I love the tool that accompanies the level, which feels to me like a versatile easel for the level to be able to attach it and set it up in a variety of situations. If you're anything like me, it's fun to have your world be level, plumb, and accurate. This tool is certainly one that will help accomplish that! I have a variety of bubble levels, and this one takes it to a new level. Pun intended. I love it!

CRAFTSMAN CMHT77632 Red 3-Spot Laser
If you need a spot laser level, then this tool may meet your need. However, if you are looking for a cross-line laser level, then this isn't it. By "spot," I mean that it literally gives you 3 red spots, one on each X/Y/Z plane. For my DIY needs, I actually want a cross-line projection, which this laser doesn't do. Maybe I am using it wrong, but the user's guide packet only includes a quickstart one-pager with only pictures and a small manual with only basic safety and maintenance information. The level doesn't have a dedicated on/off switch, but only a lock/unlock switch that turns the laser on/off. The case is nice and sturdy, though.I definitely prefer my current Klein Tools cross-line laser level.
