This book provides some good information. I've only been a PI since Sep 2018. Reading the steps to being a PI and Kurt was on the money. I would add that paying for equipment is very important. I spent $200 on a Cannon VIXIA HF R800. I haven't had to use it much, but when I do it's a life saver. I once followed a guy and recorded him at a high school football game. The handheld helped me remain discreet, but also made the case easy.Also, look for a program that can put timestamps on videos.

I’m only about 3/4 through this book, but so far everything it contains has been common sense. I am currently in the application process to get my private investigation license and open my own agency. I bought this book just to see if it would have any helpful information. So far, it hasn’t. This book seems to be written just as a cash grab. Look, being a p.i. takes a reasonable amount of common sense. If you need this book as a guide, then you probably shouldn’t be a p.i.

As someone looking to get into the industry I found this a very helpful book. It gives great advice on the steps you can take to gain your first experiences as an investigator. Having read a number of other books on the subject, its refreshing to see one that is not overtly US-centric and presents info applicable to investigators around the world.

Would highly recommend this book. Very informative and very well written.

I saw this book and thought it looked like it would be an interesting read introducing the basic world of private investigation services. There are tie ins of interest to other subjects I'm interested in also that kind of interconnect with this subject, in the way of espionage, tradecraft for spying etc.
