Great daypack or “get home bag” for the price!
This a really nice “assault pack” if you are buying it for military applications. It’s also the perfect size for day hikes or just packing some of the spare items you need if you are bring the kids out for the day. For the price, this is an amazing value as it seems to be made from pretty durable materials and the stitching is really good. I haven’t hiked with it yet, but I loaded it up with about 15 pounds of junk and wore it for a while just to see how it felt. It was comfortable and ride nicely on my back. For a size comparison, the picture I took was of a 5.11 Rush 72. I would like to stress that this pack is not going to be large enough to carry what you need for an overnight camping trip. It’s also not the correct dimensions for a student looking to carry books and such. The best application would be for a day hike, get home bag, or just to carry some emergency gear in your vehicle. My only minor complaint is that It doesn’t have a designated compartment for a hydration bladder. You could certainly put one in the main compartment and slip the hose through the zipper, but it just isn’t an ideal design for that purpose. There is plenty of room however for a canteen or several water bottles. All things considered (especially value for the price) this is a great product and I highly recommend it!

Way small but well built.
Small version must mean for small people. If you're a big retired marine don't buy this. This is a great pack for a kid, no doubt about that. Seems well built and could probably carry alot of water and FDF, other necessities for a hike or bug out. Waste belt was half of what I needed and I tossed it aside immediately. Adjusted the shoulder straps all the way out and put it over my shoulders and it did fit. I'll try it out when in the desert in a couple of months. I want to be fair about this. So I'll say it appears well built, lots of pockets, nice colors, zippers are tough looking seem stout. But likely going to be too small for me. And that's a fair assessment. Okay I added a star. Fits my wife perfectly exact right size, holds the perfect amount of stuff for her. And she's comfortable with it on. I'll get something a bit bigger. I tip the scale at 290 so it's not the fault of the pack.

The Best Tactical Backpack for under $50
So, I have been looking for an EDC Tactical Backpack for quite some time, however I didn't want to spend a ton of money. When I came across Roaring Fire Gear I was a little skeptical, but I ordered one anyway. Seeing as they are $30, it would not affect me that much. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this pack and that it also can host a water bladder as well. The rubberized inner lining makes this pack water resistant which is a huge plus. The amount of storage and inner compartments make this the perfect pack for the perfect price. This pack is going to be my main EDC carry pack and I look to get a long time of usage out of this pack! I do a lot of outdoor activities on a weekly basis and this will come in very handy. Definitely recommend this product! I look forward to getting more items from Roaring Fire Gear and you should get one too!!

Very nice pack
I ordered this backpack not knowing what to expect. The price was really good and it looked of high quality, but you never know. After testing this pack out in the Mountains of China for a month, I can say that it is a great pack. The straps don't show any signs of failing and the zippers are great so far. My favorite part is that this holds a lot, but the airlines consider it a "personal item" when on planes. I loaded this up with my large camera, computer, tablet, water bottle and books and still had the ability to have another 'carry-on' bag on the plane. Once at the location, I can cinch the straps down and it becomes a smaller day pack for traveling around town. Very happy after some tough testing.

Love the bag, hate the straps!
Bag itself is a great size for short day hikes and I love the pockets. The straps, however are terrible. I’m 6’0” and 185lbs. And the waist strap doesn’t reach around me. Also, the plastic D rings don’t hold any of the straps. A slight tug and they loosen. The ends of the straps are cut straight and not folded over and sewn to themselves so if you pull on them they just come right out of the D rings. I bought this a few weeks before my first hike of the season so the 30 day return window had expired before I found out how disappointed I was with it, otherwise I would have returned it.

Great budget pack for medium to small framed people.
The Roaring Fire 30L Military Tactical Assault pack is a great pack if you’re on a tight budget. While it’s not overly expensive it feels like it’s good quality. I’ve already used it as a range bag and taken it out hunting. I was easily able to carry my ammo, eye and ear pro, and even my shooting mat strapped on to the outside. It easily carried my hunting gear In the woods as well. The only real down side is that the shoulder straps and waist belt don’t have a great deal of adjustment to them so it might not fit comfortably if you are larger framed.

Great small day pack for the price.
I expected this to be a little smaller than the roaring fire tactical back pack I also ordered, and it is. Perfect size for that day hike, probably not enough room for overnighters. But for for my needs it'll be perfect for all day day hikes. Seems just as well made as the other roaring fire packs I have. For the price I really don't think you can go wrong.

Disappointed.
Disappointed. I thought this would be made better. I’m 6’ and 230lbs and this is too small for me in a sweatshirt. I’d hoped to wear this over a jacket. Not a chance! This is good for slim to medium built men without any significant outerwear. The waist strap did extend over my gut but was not secure at all. So I removed it. The chest strap was the same but I couldn’t remove it so it was left flapping. The seams, zips, pockets were all good and perfectly made. However the shoulder straps were simply not comfortable or secure feeling. So without the waist and chest straps it just felt cheap and unsecured. To summarize it’s ok for slim to medium builds but no good for me. I really wanted it to be good as I’d read such good reviews but the straps were simply not fit for purpose. Perhaps mine was a defective one.

Please be aware this is a chinese copy and not an official version made by "Roaring Fire" in the USA. To be fair - Sack seems reasonably well made. Hasn't been used in anger yet.
